I bought a PS3 a couple of years ago after being an avid gamer on my pc for many years, I just wanted to see if I was missing anything ?

I tried for over a year to get used to playing 1st person shooter and adventure games but I could never get the speed and accuracy I have with my pc where I use a keyboard and mouse combo

I have now sold my PS3 and just have a Wii for social stuff with my family, and use my pc for all my games, the only games that where marginally better on the PS3 where the good driving games but not enough to warrant keeping it

IMHO, a console is only worth for its exclusive games, no more no less. Like the lazy a******s who produced Heavy Rain and the creators of Uncharted, stuff like that.

I prefer PC over console. My desktop and laptop PC's are far better machines than either a 360 or PS3. The only thing I lack is a BD player, and I really have no need for one on either of my PC's. I have a 360, but I only use it to play games that I can't get for the PC (Madden football series, for example). I also use it as a DVD player, and I watch Netflix movies on it as well.

This is just my opinion, but a PC is far superior, but only if you have the right hardware. PC also allows you to use trainers if you prefer, and you can do modding as well.

I have an Xbox 360 and a Wii to complement my PC and I have to say that in terms of gaming, I do more of it on my consoles I guess mostly because in the past, I had a weak system that couldn't keep up with my 360. Now that I've upgraded, I have to say that I still do most of my gaming on consoles because I haven't really found any compelling games to get me to play on the PC. I have a lot of old Gamecube exclusive titles that I play on my Wii and there are some 360 games I have that I just cannot get on my PC or play better on my 360 (any racing games). Though I do game on my PC from time to time and do prefer certain things about it, there's nothing like the comfort of a joystick while sitting on the couch for a racing session on a large screen TV.

I don't comment on online play as I don't really care for it. In my experience, there are just too many individuals that ruin the experience.

I prefer the quality of gaming on a pc although the first game I tried to install on my new pc gave me issues right away. It is very frustrating when you pay big money for a pc (mostly to play games) and the game doesn't run properly. I almost imediately kicked myself for getting a pc because I suck at fixing issues with a pc. It depends on how much patience you have when it comes to software issues and whether or not its worth it to you to play with a mouse and keyboard. So far I haven't regretted it despite the issues I've had with a couple of games.

Seems like game designers aren't even trying with the PC anymore. Most games that are designed for the PC are so horrid when they're released they require extensive patching right out of the box. Totar War comes to mind.

If that wasn't bad enough, I'm stuck on dial-up, and there's a disturbing trend of everything requiring a constant internet connection and activation through Steam. It's not worth it anymore to bother with PC games.

I bought this computer to play video games among other things last year only to determine lately that I should have saved myself the trouble and just bought a ps3 and a lower end computer for my web designing, graphics, and audio/video media endeavors.

Oh well, lesson learned, I guess.
