Help with Knights of the old republic 1 & 2

I was wondering if i could get some help with my knights of the old republic game. I used to be able to play this game quite well on windows vista, but was forced to reformat my laptop to windows 7 and now neither kotor or kotor2 will play. The game installs perfectly fine, but when i get to the main screen the screen flashes like a strobe light and the character models are completely messed up, the eyes will be on one side of the screen while other parts of the body will be flipped inside out and spread around the rest of the screen. During an actual game these same problems persist. These are the specs for my system: Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA System Model: Satellite A215 BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz Memory: 2048MB RAM Available OS Memory: 1918MB RAM Page File: 1548MB used, 2287MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Card name: ATI Radeon X1200 Series Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip type: ATI Radeon X1200 Series (0x791F) I have tried to update my video card drivers by using the automatic installer and even downloaded the catalyst manager for ati radeon x1200 and it didn't fix it. Any help would be appreciated

have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? try with Vista SP2 and move up the list from there.

yes, i had forgotten to mention that i had tried the game in all of the compatibility modes. The intro videos before the loading screen like the lucas arts and the bioware/obsidian videos load perfectly fine. This problem starts to occur when the game comes to the main screen as well as during the actual game

    KOTOR 2 fix

Hey man, I had the same problems and I know this is like a year after you posted so maybe you've given up or found a fix. I found all you had to do was click update on the menu, then it goes through a few lines and tells you that automatic updating is no longer supported, simply follow the link and download the appropriate updates, I downloaded 2 I think, then just hit it to run in windows 2000 compat.

If you get this and this works then awesome, but if you've found a way to make the first game work then let me know please as I've been thinking about getting that one again for the P.C as... well it was just so good.
