And no, it doesn't cost 500 million to make a game. you kidding me?

Blizzard is a wealthy company, and doesn't need to be a dictatorship.

According to the Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Activision Blizzard has spent over $100 million on the three-part sequel to the science-fiction real-time strategy game, which kicks off with Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty on July 27.
The report stated the $100 million was purely development price and made no mention of marketing expenditures. That lofty figure well exceeds Gran Turismo 5's $60 million development cost, one of the most expensive video games to date.

    You have to remember
    Software needed to develop

    Payroll
    Marketing
    Public Relations

    Servers

It can easly make it up to $500 Million.

Blizzard is a horrible company now anyways, since they got merged with Activision, they just Sue people for sh!t reasons, and charge you money monthly to play their games. That's why I WILL NEVER BUY AND PLAY a Blizzard game EVER again. MY REASON IS NOT BECAUSE OF HACKS... Blizzard is just Spewing Excuses to make money.
I want you to spend a little over half a billion dollars developing a video game or any software, find out there is a day one activation hack.... Wouldn't you press charges as well?
That really isn't the point... I agree there should be SOME sort of charge to this, but that's OUTRAGEOUS to make someone pay a sh!t load of money for a hack they made. Those people will be in debt for a lifetime, and Blizzard is in sense a bully at school feeding money off a kid's lunch account.

Jail time would be more senseable, maybe even a 2,000 or 10,000 dollar fine... Not a 100 million dollar IOU for your life to a company that makes as much money or more in 1 week than what you will ever make in your lifetime...

Game programmers DO NOT get paid much anyway, so it wouldn't benefit them. It would just benefit the CEOs and higher up people.

Learned this from my computer programming teacher, and was advised by him to not go into gaming programming since they make very little money. 45 grand or less.. in lucky cases 65.

Another story, pretty much before WoW was made, They merged with Activision, some programmers of Blzzard left and went to NCSoft because they didn't like how Activision was making them change their programming and such for WoW. They left and made Guild Wars.

More below on how Blizzard makes more money.

How blizzard makes money: 88 Million here
Blizzard makes another 6 Million here too

I highly doubt it was $500 million all together.

The movie Avatar Wikipedia made about $3 billion in profits, and it only costed $237 million to produce. It was in development for 10 years, but was only taken seriously about 4 years ago. They had to make NEW HARDWARE on cameras, and CREATE NEW SOFTWARE to create the movie, and it DID NOT GO OVER $500 million. Now, Coding software does not cost over $500 million. Making NEW HARDWARE costs WAY WAY WAY more, since you gotta pay ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS, PROGRAMMERS, and well as other positions.

    I would say SC2 production was no more than $125 - $150Million.

Movies cost more to make, since you got rich actors making millions. Software is quite easy, since the programmers aren't paid as much.
