Windows 7: GTA 4 Resource Usauge limitation

So, I just recently got a 4 GB graphics card and installed GTA 4 on steam, now the game can run and it detect that I have 4 GB of available memory. but still it says that I am limited to 202 mb / out of 4052 mb any clues?

Download and install this patch. If it doesn't work, reinstall the game without running it at all, apply the patch and try again.

Does this also apply to games that are on steam?

Steam auto-updates unless you tell it not too. I have noticed before though when I tried to stop GTA IV from updating(to try previous patches) it did it anyway.

Yea, ill just have to post there, the above method didn't work, as I tried both applying the patch when it was already installed, and then uninstalling it and reinstalling, and then applying the patch.

This worked for me: http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/to...-restrictions/. It's not the best solution, but a work-around.

Yep that did the trick, it still feels kinda weird having the game say that I am over the resource limit, but results are results.
