    Confused And Need Help

I'm unsure which site to post this problem on so i'll try it here. Since Acclaim Games is down and out i can't ask them.

I recently bought Turok Evolution for PC (old game i know). First issue is during the movie sequences i hear the audio but only get shown a black screen. The second issue is when i shoot at someone with the sniper it doesn't hit them at all. It looks like it makes the firing noise but doesn't actually fire anything. This can't be a well known bug because i can't find anything about them on the internet. The first time i installed the game my computers power cut in the middle of the installation so that may have something to do with it. However i did uninstall and reinstall it. Can anybody offer any insights into what could be causing these problems, i can't find any information on them anywhere!

I had an issue with an old FF8 game I tried to play using a newer system. OpenGL didn't play nice with the newer video cards. Not sure how old Turok Evolution is but if it's 8-10+ years old you might actually have to downgrade your hardware to play it. Check to see if running it in xp mode resolves the issue.

It was released in 2003. How do you run xp mode?

Right click the Turok icon, select properties, go to the compatibility tab, should be an option there to change the O/S to many different versions. Find out which O/S version the software reccomends and that would be the one to select.

Go to the game's main executable and right click and select properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and check the compatibility option ans select XP. Apply the changes.

Scratch that. The sniper has stopped working again. Any more ideas?
