games are one of the few things that really push a modern pc, and you need a good multicore processor, lots of fast ram (4 gigs recommended) , and most importantly a good graphics card, as well as a reliable hi-capacity power supply to make it all run smoothly and crash-free. oh, and a case, fans, hard drive, dvd...maybe you already have a spare monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers etc.

a half decent graphics card would be 200 on its own, unfortunately.

if your budget is really that tight, have you thought about an xbox or similar?

wow thats alot i have a monitor and 5.1 surround sound and a hardrive all i need is a case and some internal for pc i spotted this out anyone rekon this will be okay ?
AMD Athlon 260 Bundle Deal Includes Athlon X2 260 AM3.. |
athlons are kinda weak you need to get a phenom you will, be held back by a weak cpu especially if you get a good board ram and card

But hey if this works for you go for it you would want to run win7 in 64 bit your max ram is 4gb it i ok but if you run 64x7 i would do atleast 6 gb ram also video card you could get a decent hd5670 1gb for 100,00 get you started no power needed but..... some what scalable performance ge a hd 5770 150.00 whic needs 1x6 pin power plug these are atleast cheap enough to get you somewhere also a psu of atleast 550watt

My laptop does very well for gaming, and I paid $1500 for it. It does particularly well on multi-threaded games because of the Core i7 740 QM. While the Radeon HD 5650 isn't the fastest, it runs games like Garry's Mod on max detail at 1920x1080 res with minimal lag. I try to stick with games that are more CPU intensive than graphics card intensive though because of having such a nice CPU.
