Windows 7: Duke Nukem: The Once & Future King?

DUKE: Life is a Beach, DUKE Atomic, DUKE it Out in D.C., DUKE Zone II....(Kill-A-Tone Collection) Good Grief I had to dig all of those out of moth balls!

The 3DRealms version had all those piled on top of the DUKE3D version. It will be interesting to see how well the D.F. sequel does however. In the last few years updated sequels to other old titles have been emerging.

Hail to the King, baby...I got to look through my old Discs where I have duke 3D and all the mods that were around that time. IMHO a good "Substitute" to span the time are the different versions of Serious Sam.

I see they had released an updated version of that but not the Duke3D original. That would be interesting if they had. At this point seeing how the DF sequel will turn out once it is finished and whenever that is.

eduke32 is the updated engine which can handle enhanced graphics for Duke 3D.

  3. Run EDuke32! Running eduke32.exe will allow you to play the game, and mapster32.exe lets you create custom maps.
That means you could either use the original 3D or the Atomic edition.
That's how it works for me

I just hope that, whomever makes the game, doesn't do EXP or side missions to gain EXP or better weapon upgrades.

What I remember about this game is that is was "Balls Out" and that's how I want to play it.

I'm sure the updated sequel will have varying difficulty levels.

As for that EDuke32 you have to wonder if that will work on the 64bit 7. The main page for that development is seen at EDuke32 • Duke3D for Windows, Linux and OS X referred to from the sorceforge page. EDuke32 | Download EDuke32 software for free at SourceForge.net

That would have to be some form of VM dos emulator type app someone came up with. I have both of those but neither on DOSBox would run due to the game's inability to detect and use any recent sound cards. This would be something else to look over.

(The advantages of updated sequels is no hardware fuss! )
