    Gran Turismo alternative for PC?

Gran Turismo was my favorite racing series because of the insane realism and huge selection of cars. I have played GT, GT2, GT3, and GT4. The last two on PS2, and the first two on PS1. I'm rather disappointed that I can't play this epic game on my PC. I remember on the first one, if you get a Mitsubishi GTO (Japanese name for the 3000GT) Twin Turbo MR and max upgrade it, you get over 800 HP and the thing will own at any race if you can control it! On one race I overlapped everyone else twice. So, does anyone know of a game similar to this that I could play on my PC?

I also have my GT3 disk still. Maybe a PS2 emulator to let me play it? All three of my PS2s died. On one, the laser stopped working, on the another the fan died and it overheated, and the other one fell off of a shelf.

If you own the games already, get dvd decrypter and rip it to an iso image. Then pcsx2 can run it. I just did it this morning with my brother-in-law's copies of Kingdom hearts/II. pcsx or w/e the equivlant can run easily from the cd, as I do it all the time with battle tanks global assault. YOU WILL NEED A STRONG PC! Higher cpu clocks make a huge difference and so does your gfx card. Some games will just run like shit no matter what.

Grid and Dirt 2 are cracking games. Both are graphically excellent, game play is superb whilst fps is smooth and crisp.

    Thumbs up:)

F1 2010 is also good but suffers from performance issues, if and when these are ironed out it will rank up there with the best of em.

Forza is not available for the PC, it's only on the Xbox consoles. Forza is good...but to insinuate that Gran Turismo is not a real racing game is just downright silly. GT is one of the best racing sims out there.

In fact, I asked for GT5, and a PS3 for xmas just so I could play the game.

Oh god, the days of Gran Turismo, by god i miss that game and GT4 on the PS2.

And yes the Mitsibushi GTO Twin Turbo was the best, think i had mine over 900hp though, oh and the best way to handle it was to drive sideways round the bends, basicly.
The one thing i found is it depended on the HP the car originally had as mine was a second hand GTO, when i played the game again after stupidly and, accidently, deleted my save!!!!

I think for now my alternative has to be Grid:RaceDriver and Xpand Rally (For customisation and the graphics were pretty good imo.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Simbin's RACE series. You better have a steering wheel and be ready for a challenge. The graphics aren't "nextgen" but the car physics are unbelievably real. I have GTR Evolution but haven't bought RACE On yet.

They have a demo on Steam and their website so you can check it out before buying.
