    Graphics Issue: Wolfenstein Enemy Territory

    Hello,

I'm looking for a little help with a graphic problem when running Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. The problem is that while I知 in the game there are many patches of the landscape that are black. I think in most cases the landscape is supposed to be white-ish. Similarly, many things look like chrome when they are supposed to be grey or water/ice features. Those are the only two color problems I知 having, and all other aspects of the game are good.

I致e played ET for many years on my old XP machine without problem and just upgraded to this new Windows 7 machine. Here are the specs of the new machine:
    Dell XPS Studio 7100
AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor
MS Window 7 Home Premium x64
    8GB DDR SDRAM
    ATI Radeon HD5670 1GB

All my drivers are up to date, so I知 not quite sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    MacrO

If you have updated your drivers correctly (both Audio and Video), my only suggestion is to lower the Resolution to the minimum just to see if that helps. If it doesn't, right click on the icon/exe for the game and go to its properties and use the Compatibility Mode option for it and use XP mode.

Now, if you had your drivers updated before you installed the game, perhaps you want to take a little time uninstalling and installing a fresh copy of the drivers since they seem to get corrupted from time to time.

OK. Just tried the compatibility mode for XP, and it seemed to help a bit – less landscape black & white issues, but the ice features now look like black chrome and the water features are a weird pixelated plaid. I also tried changing the resolution settings in the game console, but it didn’t help.
I could probably live with the way it is now, but still interested in resolving it fully. One other thing, I tried taking screen shots but when I paste them, they are just solid grey? (Related?).
    Thanks,

Actually, it didn’t help in all maps. I just played Fuel Depot and Stalingrad and they are real bad…patchy black landscapes. Hmmm.
