Angry Birds for PC - surprising lag

Man, never thought this would happen. Works great on my crappy 5-year-old laptop. Has sound popping and graphics lag with my 6-month-old PC (click my link for specs.)

    Anyone run into this?

Well I'm scouring the interwebz for "access" to a "copy" of Angry Birds for the PC. I'll give it a whirl on my 3-week old machine and report back.

Update: Seems to work fine for me. Did you get this game legitimately?

Haven't tried Angry Birds for the PC, but I play it on my rooted Nook Color tablet all the time and it plays smooth as butter. What a great game though.

Didn't want to make a new topic. But I seem to be getting an error when I try to start the .exe. file. it says that "Texture is too large" 2048x2048; Maximum supported size is 1024x1024" I tried editing the config file and put "Fullscreen Mode" into False and messed around with the Res size on my PC and the Game, but keep getting the same thing. According to Rivio I need to make sure I have the latest upates for my Graphics Driver, which is the stupidest answer I've ever recieved EDIT: I downloaded the new CCC and it works.

    Error 2048x2048 not supported

I get the same message and no idea how to fix. What is CCC?

Catalyst Control Center. It's the management piece to ATI graphics drivers. If you're not having lag specifically, please create a new thread so we can keep the issues separate.

    Thanks!

jelyman, yes the game is legit.

I don't get that texture too large error. I can play the game, I just hear pops and crackles when some (not all) objects are moving on the screen. And now that I've paid attention, it's actually the sound that's lagging. Not the graphics. Again, on my laptop, which is running 7, it works great.

Totally, utterly, disgustingly, bleepingly crappy soundblaster drivers. What is up with that company?
