    Mass Effect Problem

just tested Mass Effect with Bring down the sky dlc
on my x64 win 7 machine and for some reason the loading of the game at the start takes way too long...and if I alt Tab out and get back into it the screen is black for like 3 mins b4 returning to the game...is there a solution to this?.

I know that the splash screen takes around 20-30 seconds to load the game engine.

I am running Win 7 RC x64 btw

    Thanks for any help

Encountered similar problems with Mass Effect & The Last Remnant (unreal 3 engine based games).

Are you using a nvidia videocard?

Try setting the cpu affinity in Task Manager for Mass Effect to use only one core.

Another thing to try is run ME in windowed mode if it has the option in the graphics settings.

Hmm I am currently running Last Remnant on my machine and i dont have any problem at all. Heck even the creative beta drivers have the audio running great in the game with complete surround sound which was not happening before!
