Gaming and FPS/Ping

Been looking around the forums for a while now, I have already went through the 19 steps to improve Win 7 performance etc.

My issue is that when playing games my FPS is normally around 3-8 FPS.
yes i said 3 to 8 FPS and ping around 100.

I still have the intergrated vid card, hopefully will be updating at tax time *crosses fingers*

Im trying to find a way to increase the FPS atleast a little, seeing that Im a priest and really cant handle it with the fps/lag anymore :P People keep dying around me :)

Any Suggestions on how to improve my gaming experience would be really helpful.


BTW- I have the game graphic setting ALL THE WAY DOWN, Everything cut off or on low settings, no shadows, no spell effects, nothing.. Mobs look like blobs... yea...

Yep, that is pretty much your choke point.

Aside from Upgrading your Video & Audio drivers, there is not that much you can do.

The game specs don't look like much but, most of the game that you probably play are console ports and not very good so they become total resource hogs.

Also, once Tax money comes along, be careful what kind of Video card you get, that 550W PSU might need to be upgrade it as well.

Was thinking about going with this card, in my price range and seems like a decent card, I wont be playing any Really graphic intense games.

I don't know anything about AMD/ATI so I can't really help you there but I am sure others will chime in later.

Yea hehe I dont expect 300fps Right now I would be happy with 50fps, LOL gaming with 5 :P

Looking at your specs... you are going to need a better power supply. A 550w unit is not going to handle the 68xx series card. I am aware that they recommend a 500w or better but thats pretty much if you are running no other hardware.

If it is a decent 550W (sufficient amps on the 12V rail) it is more than enough,

3. Difference (GPU load) = 102W
