I got invited to play the beta. Needless to say, this game is terrible. It's a horribly done WoW clone and I wouldn't be caught dead paying money for this instead of WoW. I MIGHT have considered playing it if it were free to play. The only thing I like about it is the (apparent) abundance of cut scenes, but I've got a strong feeling that they can only be found in the beginning of the game.

Also on the incredibly weird / stupid side, they make you choose your character classes right as you spawn into the world, from a bunch of NPCs. Someone explain to these people what a learning curve is why exactly they shouldn't make new players choose important aspects of their character before they learn to use W A S D to move.

The following is strictly personal opionion, and initial thoughts.
    Subject to change :)

Im not sure what to think about it so far but I haven't played that much yet either.
ATM, Im a lvl 8 Cleric (Justicar/Shaman mix)

    The Gameplay:

I would disagree slightly that its just a WOW clone.

And by that I mean, it certainly seem to have certain elements pulled straight from WOW. But also EQ2,AION, WAR and Vanguard that I have seen thus far.
I remember thinking at times .. Oh this is just like Warhammer, for example.

Its OK, but I fail to see how its the latest and greatest MMO thats changing MMOS as we know them ... as its being presented.
It seems to me as if they just took the good points from many other popular MMOs and mixed it all into 1 game.

So, in the end, theres really nothing new to see here. Its the same old same old MMO, just put together differently from everything we already know.

    Class System:
Not sure what to say about this just yet. I do like the idea you can devolop your character in many different ways. It does seem as if no Warrior will be the same, or no Cleric will be the same.

But I have a feeling by end game, everyone will end up being the same in the end.
To early to really tell, just yet, how this will work out.

You do not just choose a class, and get the same spells/abilitys as everyone of the same class when you level up.

You choose a Base class., and then attune a soul type (up to 3 at the same time) which will determine how your character develops and what skills they have avaialable to them.

For example, If you choose a cleric, you can choose to be a straight out healer/buffer.
Or perhaps, strong at single heals, but also do lots of melee damage.
Or maybe you'd rather some debilitating magic, and ranged spells, with group heals.

From what Ive seen, you do not even have to stick with your base class type souls. You can mix and match from anything to devlop your character.

So there does indeed seem to be some varity in the sense of how you can devolp a character.

My major complaint in the chaaracter area at this point, is the character creation. Very few options and most everyone seems to end up looking nearly the same.
    This may change.

Everyone is talking about how great the graphics are as well .. and Im sorry to say I simply do not see it, even at Ultra settings. Maybe Im missing something.
It does not look all that great to me.

But, graphics are not always everything. So Ill just wait and see how the game develops. Some MMOS do get much better after the initial Noobie areas.

Of course, it would also be fair to say, the game is still in BETA and does not release until March.
So there very well may be some changes made before release.
