    Games wont find the CD's

So i've got quite a major problem. Im trying to run games on my dads computer. (command and Conquer First Decade (Zero Hours)), Might and Magic VIII (works on my comp. Same OS aswell) But everytime i start to run the games i get the error, Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select ok and restart application.

Thought the DVD is insert into the DVD reader, Even tried to install a no cd crack to the game but i do still get the same problem. Also tried a repair of the OS. Tried another DVD reader aswell

This happened to me on a old machine I had (like socket 478 old)
Turned out for some reason the system had changed the drive letter on the dvd drive so everything was looking in the wrong place.
...just a thought to check on.

Have tried to run it from another driver which did not make any diffrence. But did also crach the game so there should be no CD required.

We have tried 2 different DVD-ROMs and we had the same problem. You can install games with the cd roms but you cant run the games cous it can not find the CD as i've said before.

Guess we have to format the HDD's and see if that works.

one more thing is this rom a ide or sata cause ide you might have to fiddle with the jumpers or just remove it completly

Also if you have changed drives cables ect maybe it is the disc itself that is fouled up .not everything copies correctly to disc

    Just throwing that out there
