    Sims 2 problems

Okay so i have been trying to install Sims 2 on my computer for the first time since it crashed. when it was fixed it was also updated from Vista to Windows 7.

Sims 2 worked before, on vista, but now when i try and play it after installing it comes up with a message saying
'failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system. please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers by the manufacturer.'

However i know i already have up to date DirectX, and nothing i try seems to work.

I have got the latest patches, reinstalled DivX and re-installed sims, checked my drivers are up to date etc. etc.

    Help?

I had this same problem just yesterday, run the installation troubleshooter and it should recommend a XP Compatibility Pack, after the troubleshooter did that, the game ran smooth as ever.
