GTA IV won't start after 1.0.07 patch

2 years ago, i installed the game into my laptop at a much lower spec, able to start and play at a very low fps.

2 days ago, I installed the game in my new computer with a very much higher spec, and tried to play the game. Before I updated the game patch to 1.0.0.7 the game was almost unplayable, even though i was running on high specifications on Crysis. I looked up the forums and was told to update my patch.

I've updated until 1.0.07 and they removed my Social Club. After that, I tried starting launching GTA IV, it loads and loads but never start running the game. Is there a problem with the game or are there any solutions for this?

    My system:
    Windows 7 64-bit
    i7 920 2.67GHz
    Geforce GTX 570 1GB
    6GB RAM DDR3

    Please help

There are a lot GTA users getting slow FPS in GTA IV. You may want to do a research on boosting FPS,

Another good idea (Only try if you are familiar with Overclocking) is to overclock that i7 to 3.0ghz.

GTA IV is a cpu intensive game so the CPU needs to be quick. 2.67ghz just does'nt cut it for the game.

Also, a graphics card with plenty of memory would be a great help as well.

If these are not the best answer, then try the post Deanp suggested and also try lowering your settings.

You will be surprsied as to how low you can go without ruining the experience.

    Happy gaming
