Shannara Help?

Hey, everybody. I recently purchased a game I used to play when I was a young boy called Shannara, a game based on a book series by Terry Brooks. I found it again at a yard sale and got feeling nostalgic, so I picked it up and decided to try to fire it up. To my dismay, I find myself unable to install or play the game.

I'm currently running Windows 7 64-Bit, and this game is old. Windows 95 old. Compatibility mode doesn't seem to be working on this thing. Every time I tell the game to install from the autorun it tells me to please insert a Shannara CD, despite the fact that the disc is pretty obviously in the drive. Any thoughts or suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

Mad props to anyone who actually remembers this game and played it back in the day. That Brona mirror scene still gives me shivers thinking about it, and I get a little misty eyed whenever I think of Shella. Ah, nostalgia. You make everything cooler than it actually is.

The insert the CD happens when using a copy of the game, not original. If this is not the case, then try running the Setup.exe in compatibility and administrator mode. Sometimes this helps. If not, try patching the game.

This the game,

Shannara for DOS (1995) - MobyGames

if so then you're going to need something like this,

DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

in order to get it to run in Windows 7 x64 (and probably needed for 32 bit Windows as well).
