Soo many games soo little time...

I love PC Gaming for as long as I can remember and I've played many good games back in the day however these days I've got so many games that I own on Steam and on CD that I haven't really played and it just seems like there are so many games out there but not enough time. Does anyone agree with me ?

I wish there were more hours in a day. The thing is that I never really know what game to get into. I've got many games installed on my system I start a game play it for a bit then move on to something else, sometimes I get back to the game other times I don't.

Too many distractions in our modern world, would you agree ?

    Are you a gamer ?

I have been a gamer ever since we had to insert our 7.5" and 3.5" floppy diskettes instead of CD's. I only play FPS games but I have to agree that there are WAY to many options out there... there is such a thing as TO MANY I think.

I usually stick to a game until I am done with it but then again, money is tight on my end and I have always teach myself to buy what I need and not always what I want... two different things altogether.

Yes, there is nature and outside sports interfering with gaming but there are also mediocre or very bad games that I won't touch with a 10 foot pole

Well, I barely have time to play my two or three favourite games (PES6, rFactor and International Volleyball 2009)..
So I've got Bioshock 2 that I bought in early January and it's still there to finish (I'm more or less halfway), my career with Como in FM2009 lurking there unplayed since last April, NFS Most Wanted abandoned when I'm at #4 in the blacklist..
Yes, there are more games than time

Well, I see it the other way round: games are a distraction from real life. I prefer going outside doing real sports instead of playing PC games (e.g. play real football instead of PES6).

I could have considered myself more of a gamer in the early 2000s (when I was at high school). Now, I barely play more than a hour a day (which more or less is the time it takes to finish a single best-of-5-sets match in IV2009 with a kind of challenging difficulty) so I can't really call myself a gamer anymore.

I have so much time I have to take breaks from gaming- well kind of- because if I am not gaming and recording my every step- I am converting game play videos maybe uploading them or post in gaming threads like now. I am disabled. I take breaks to get up walk around a lil get a smoke or some eats or the restroom etc..

I can easy game play games 13 to 17 hours a day- Was a time I played ut04 17 hours a day tdm mp for 2 1/2 years and normally just the rankin map over and over all day/night long and tho I have the full retail version.

Ha ha I could be playing folks they go the bed come back or go to work come back I am still playing- Got pretty good too. Got sick of hack cheaters I have to play harder and harder and my hands hurt- they can just bump up the cheats on the fly while playing- it was comical- Yep zelios type crap and they use like stuff in every pc fps type game and on the hack sites they teach each other how to dial it down so not to be noticed and just look like a normal good player- Have lock on and tracking aim bots and radar can make them selves move faster jump more high or give them selves more armor or health what ever and can adjust it on the fly- most all clans are hack clans- it gets sickening.. And most All the hack programs I have seen on sale or zelios etc all had .de on the end of the sites- whats that germany? Does not the eu hate microsoft? Does not ms have to kiss eu butts and make special versions for them or free or low cost stuff for say china- I get sick of it and then All I get is bug crap and bug crap w7 too.. Or secure rom what ever because of hacker cheaters, and fake anti cheat junk- then some of that runs 24/7 even if you are not playing the game.

I have other friends that have 100 games or more on steam and never completed a 1 of them- It is a waste of money to me- more like just having a collection on a shelf just to say look at all the games I have I am so cool.

I start a game I normally play it until the end if I like the game- I pretty much stopped playing all mp games like 3 years ago- got sick of being cheated in every last 1 of them and most all even on the first day out- I get no joy out of it any more- I normally only played sp 1x then all mp- now I do not play mp at all- I do not buy games said to have good mp- and do not buy games with short finish in 1 eve sp or buggy junk- I wait for the games to be out for a bit and read player reviews and not game site reviews they are paid to give good reviews. I read they are buggy or over in a few hours I skip it until it is on steam for 20 bucks or less. Ha ha now games cost what 60 bucks and still short or bug crap- sucks man..

Also If I do read games are buggy I go to the home site and see how they or fan boys treat folks complaining- if they are nasty with folks and let fan boys dog or cuss them and get away with it and them complaining get ban- I will not buy it or anything from them in the future either- I get sick of it and poor junk port junk and trying to kill off pc games- I get sick of fan boys helping suck companies perpetuate a fraud and cheat or con folks or keep suck companies in business- I think most of them should go under.

PC gamers spend way more money than the others do maybe the games cost a lil less but our systems or vid card alone cost more than a console- it is fact most want to stop making pc games they ms ea most all of them would rather we all be on xbox or something. They all put out just enough half assed junk to keep us buying high end pc's or components and video cards- Then none of that is ever as good as hype or advertised.. Make it seem like they are doing us a favor to patch a game or put out good drivers what ever- do not get me started on windows.. Gees gfwl is from satan- I hate that crap- no real servers any more or community support from the companies etc. Not like the quake or ut04 or before days anyway.

PC gaming got me into my computer- take it away I do not need a pc- and surely do not need all the power if not for gaming a p3 can still do 85% of anything needed on a pc. might as well be on a mac less head akes than windows any way- no more pc gaming I will give up pc altogether..>>

I do sometimes play more than 1 game at a time mostly because friends are playing something else and might be stuck or something I go in and make them videos or something- But it is a waste of my money not to complete games unless they suck or are to buggy- It is a wonder I ever played stalker 1x but played it 47x- started 48 the other day with complete mod 09 but it sucks stupid mod scopes and ruined the seva suit night vision- I deleted the game and being it had patch 1005 just for the mod- I prefer patch 004. I might install it again soon- but installed postal2 stp and aw and awp yesterday playing that now- still off/on with borderlands goty and fo3 goty- I have completed both games but in free play etc- well I still have a few quests open- I did that just to keep me interested but still even when I do go back I avoid them because then I would more feel it is completed- Be nice if both and stalker games had more or better reacurring quests- Free play is still cool tho- and being all leved up and have all the best stuff- gets a lil boring sometimes tho and wish I had more quests to do..

I will sometimes play borderlands co op with a bud or two- I have no 1 to play other mp games with or I trust not to cheat me anyway.. SUCKS!!!! ha ha..

Pick a game or the 1 you think you like most and complete it-- I love when my said game expert buds talk game stuff yet they have never completed 1 dang game- Most of my games I record play throughs- get sick of nasty folks at youtube tho- or sony or bmg and youtube ban my videos and threaten to delete my account over a song built into the dang game- I did not add it or rip it off like most other folks do- it is built in. So it is ok- I deleted all of the videos will not play the games any more or buy from them or anything sony or who or what ever- they can all go under for all I care- starve to death fall on their heads or something- I do not care- I deleted 4 play throughs and other videos from youtube a few months ago over 1,500 videos - still have like 2,000 now on youtube. I have right now about 4,000 videos I could upload plus the 1500 I deleted. Deleted 4 play throughs total all my cod +uo + 4 + waw stuff mohaa bioshock- I did slip and installed bioshock mostly because I have a new system- I remembered why I deleted it and all my videos and deleted it again the other day before my first daddy fight- I loved bioshock played it 15x was on 16- hate bio2 it is a suck rip off- Loved waw zombies had tons and tons of zombie map videos it is all gone now- I will not play or buy from either of them again. Well anti american crap at codaddicts pissed me off too- but mostly over youtube crap is why I deleted all my cod stuff..

It sucks I have to turn off music in my games- I normally have it low anyway- but it helps to set atmosphere or era- take it away half the fun is gone- I would not play or record if I did not like the games- I make no money from them I was just a fan- I see it as free advertisement for them- I get treated like that- I will not play or buy from them again- I really wish I could find another vid host site at least as good or same features as youtube and let me upload game videos- I would drop them too. so.

If things get any much worst than now- My pc is gone gaming is over- I never played such things in my life until a few years ago- I worked played real sports and chased woman- never liked pinball pool none of it or places with such things and low lifes or drunks or rednecks or punks etc. Never played a console and never will. Not really a rant- I am me just saying is all..

I might be dead now if not for my pc and gaming- it sucks more and more and I have less and less to live for- Its just the truth..

    Have fun- see ya..

Ya well being disabled and my state takes over half my ssdi check every month I am poor as dirt- more poor than migrant workers. I get after they take theirs 394 a month in my hands then my part of the rent is 325- I have like 70 for food or what lil I try to save out of it.. Sucks. I play what I have or is give to me if I like it- ya it is others I would like to have. Each of my last pc's was give to me 3 of them or most of it any way- I did have to buy some stuff to complete them and carry over what I can to.

I have some I like a lot I will survive I guess- unless w7 picks my last nerve maybe..

Being I have no money to buy stuff I have less fits- I would be nuts spending my money on most all this junk crap out today.. Stalker games are a chore to play- so buggy and have to nurse them along kind of endears me to them- They are like me disabled retarded maybe. They are great games if they are working.. fo3 and bioshock2 run a very close 2 and 3rd for bug junk-

Do not much like bio2 at all tho- then how they did mp and split up the community with mp dlc's- them with have advantages- then the extra maps not even they could play unless private matches- its stupid- it could or should have been epic and way more maps and community support for mods and skins etc and all free added content- but no and no I will not buy infinity either until very cheap- same for anything else beth or gsc.

I did pay full price for stalker soc and cop but they was only 40 bucks each. I waited until like 8 months ago to buy cs for 10 bucks- never completed a game yet and tried many mods too- never could get the 1 flash drive in cordon or if you save at the npp you can not kill strelok. it sucks man- 10 patches and still cant finish a dang game- cop is ok but has bad slow downs from all the dead bodies laying around been out near 2 years now and not a patch yet.. Sucks..

Of the 3 stalker games I guess I like soc the most- may sound odd but cs runs the best for me out of all of them- it was said as hard on a system as crysis- just It will not let me complete it so I gave up on it..

Ha ha what few buds I have think me odd sometimes- I get free stuff and complain about it- I am sorry I am me- I point out both the good and the bad and if I do not like it I say so- ha ha. Im laughing now its a trip sometimes.. I am grateful tho.. Well hate having to take charity- it sucks low self esteem etc- I worked all my life until like 6 years ago- would work 2 or 3 jobs at a time even- Always paid cash never had credit cards either.. But I am not stupid- least I can have a lil joy playing my games I never even walk out side for months and months at a time.

My games take my mind off of my life- its the truth.. Guess I could be a drunk or a junkie or killer or in prison or have aids or something or a thief- I cant die- This is all I have really.. You also learn free is not always free- Can have strings attached and folks think they can treat ya or talk to ya any kind of way- Well from a far anyway..

Yes to a degree. I have a lot of older PC games that unfortunately will not run on my current PC for different reasons (Win9x only, Glide only, etc.) I keep saying I'll build a legacy PC but that's been on the backburner for about 5 years ... maybe I'll get to it one day. But yes, there's a lot of games to get into and definitely not enough time to play them though I find myself more interested in older games (pre-2008) as newer games for some reason just don't seem to pique my interest much anymore. Too many FPS-style games in my opinion and too much of a back catalog I still have to go through. I still haven't played the original Bioshock, Fallout 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, Crysis, and others. Not to mention, I'm still waiting on sequels to older franchises such as Deus Ex, Splinter Cell, Hitman, and Max Payne among others.

Still, nothing beats some old PC gaming. I wish I could get the PC version of Sonic CD to run properly but it'll only run on Windows 95 and 98 very well. XP can run it in some cases but not all.

This is a tricky one because once a game has me hooked, I don't want to let it go. I work at a help desk with a lot of freedom in what I can do on my PC and when I work the slower shifts, I often will bring in my video games and start running through them again. Reliving Deus Ex (original and Invisible War), Splinter Cell (original, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory), Max Payne 1 and 2, Sonic and Knuckles Collection. Fun times, fun times. Some games I still haven't finished to this day surprisingly though. The last levels on both Thief Gold and Thief II respectively since I've had both games (around 2001) and I still haven't beaten their last levels. Maybe when I get over my fear of the last level of Thief Gold I'll finish it. Thief II is just tricky but I'll get back to it one day.

The gaming world in 2011 is far different from the gaming world I started with in 1993. Back when getting a cheat code meant reading a magazine or figuring it out with a Gameshark or talking to friends to see who knew what. Too many distractions today, I agree 100%. Between YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, 500 Channels of TV, too many choices. Although in relation to gaming, I think the emphasis in many games of today on online play is not a good thing as there seems to be less focus on great single-player campaings and more of a focus on who can frag who. I'm a bit old fashioned (despite only being 22, go figure) and prefer single-player focused games.

Multiplayer can be fun but I prefer it in person because there's something extra to it. I'm a gamer to a degree but I wouldn't consider myself hardcore to any degree. I prefer racing games, action/adventure games, platformers, simulations. One of my favorite games of all time is SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition and other favorites of mine include the Need For Speed series, Hitman series, Splinter Cell series, Thief series, Deus Ex series, Max Payne series, GTA series, Mario series, Sonic series, and others.

To be honest, I generally game just to relax and pass the time. Though I do like PC gaming, I also love console gaming because to me, there's nothing more comfortable than sitting on my couch with controller in hand, turning on my 50 inch HDTV and playing games by simply inserting a DVD and pressing Play with certainty that it will work.

    I can feel ya darician

It is 2 or maybe 3x I stopped playing a game for a while because I was stuck and on purpose was suborn and did not want to check out a walk through etc.

I think the first was hl2- I was stuck in that 1 area near start of the game where you had to drop down on some pipes and turn the valve and fill everything up with water- I would try and try for hours days weeks 2 months or so then gave up for like 2 months- I went and spent 20 bucks for the guide- It got me through the game helped a lot. HL2 being so massive and having to read and just a few pictures was a help but not much really- I still had to figure stuff out or try and match where I was or looking at the world and trying to match that to the photos etc in the guide. It was still great fun. HL2 was my first I guess real puzzle type fps. Ha ha that 1 area- I seen what to do in the walk through- I was like how in the heck was I supposed to figure that out? So I did not feel so stupid then..

The only other game I can remember being stuck in for a long while was quake4 the end fight with that big monster thingy in the room where he re powers his self. I never bought any guides for any games other than hl2- I always avoid reading any such things on the net or even play through videos- videos and such make it too easy- I get no real joy not having to figure it out my self- its supposed to challenge us etc. Took me a few months going back and trying and trying I finally beat that big sucker- I was proud of my self- now I can run through either game really after having beat them the first time. But hl2 taught me a lot about in game puzzles- And the fact the obvious might be looking me in the face or common sense in games etc. HL2 helped me to learn what to look for in others games where puzzles are involved.. Great stuff- I really wish for a all new and new engine hl3. I would buy it as soon as I could.. I would really be happy if valve added some rps elements to a new hl3 game- Sounds awesome..

As said before tho- I normally stick at it 1 game at a time until I finish them- I can get stuck and a lil flustered and maybe start another to get a break from the 1 I am stuck in. I love it tho- I also agree most games today are just missing something [ quality for 1]- I can also say I think the best thing to happen in a long while is rps games the combo or joining of rpg and fps- I think rps is a natural progression of fps games- Straight up fps is great for mp maybe or if you just want a flat linear game maybe- but rps adds a lot makes it seem more real etc- Some are buggy if not very buggy true. But I think folks are missing something if they do not give games like fo3 stalker games and bioshock or borderlands a go-

They rps games are not short and imo are the best thing going and best bang for your buck and or value.. Add in the dlc's or wait and get a goty cheap from say steam for 25 bucks- that is true value If you can wait that long to buy or play it.. Even so- buying the main game some time near when it comes out or wait a lil until its a lil cheaper and then later buying a goty is still better value than buying the game and all dlc's separately. I Got my retail fo3 collectors ed for 50- later got the goty from steam for 25- still saved 25 bucks- well more than that my collectors ed was 70 bucks- but circuit city went under here I got it cheap- so really I saved like 45 bucks over all.. I really love my lil bobble head shaking his head at me now and the lunch box is awesome- it holds all my game disc's now or games I play any way..

They more remind me of say hl2 only more complicated or things you have to do like in the real world to actually survive etc. If I had the cash and maybe for a better vid card too I would love metro- I read it is skin of your teeth and maybe only 3 bullets- The whole game you are or can just barely make it to the next level or survive your last battle. Sounds great to me. I think I read its not that long of a game tho- but it will work ya being so hard makes it longer than it really is etc..

RPS [ role playing shooter] is as close as I can get to RPG- straight up RPG is not my cup of tea- RPS is my fav genre tho.. Add some co op to them- Maybe a few buds- Heaven Imo.

Pain Killer and BOOH was a great game I think- Maybe not so much the fights or boss' but trying to get to some artifacts etc was a real challenge I think and Return to Castle Wolfenstein was great and looking for secrete places and goodies was cool.. UT04 was my straight up fps mp bliss- I like loved it far more than anything quake or cod or what ever mp- UT04 is still my fps mp choice to this day- its just cheated so bad- The cheaters ran me off really.. I did not get rtcw until like 3 years ago. Playing postal2 awp now it is a hoot of a game.. Love it and looks nice. I have it all ut03 04 tweaked out and for my wide screen etc- Looks sweet runs nice too..

I wish you folks the best and some great gaming joy- See ya..
