    GTA IV stopped working

    So here goes my story..

GTA IV just stopped working, even if it has worked for a year without any problems.
I've reinstalled the game few times, downloaded a new patch from Rockstar Games, but still it doesn't work. Just sends me an error if I start the game when it passes from the Rockstar games intro.. The game also doesn't recognize my Social Club account.

I have also cleaned computer's registry, but it didn't help.
And I play with the legal game which as always worked, until now..

    Can somebody help me out?

Please watch your language these are rated g forums.

That out of the way. You are actually the second person in three days I've seen having issues with gta 4. I'm actually wondering if a windows patch is behind it.

Since the game is dx9 let's go ahead and find the main exe file, right click it, and set it for xp compatibility mode, and see if it will launch.

It's possible for some reason your firewall has decided to block your log in in the game as well.
