Since it's EA Games putting this out, I sure hope they don't do a screw-up like Battlefield 2142. I never liked that game, since if you made an account, it pretty much locked your cd-key to your computer. And knowing EA, they'll put some bogus anti-pirating garbage that'll discourage a few people from buying it, regardless of what type it is. That usually happens with many games though. The latter part, I mean. Not trying to start an argument or anything. But EA has been goin' down the toilet the last few years, at least in my opinion. They certainly have bought out a lot of other gaming companies out there. Such as Sierra, which I thought was a good company.
I do have to say that doesn't exactly look "Battlefieldish" for some reason. It looks like CoD4 on the Xbox to me, but that's probably because they have the same gun in that video.
I'll have to see what they do with their game first before I grab it though. I'm not really into the Anti-Pirating stuff companies like to pile onto their games, seeing as it doesn't deter anyone from downloading it anyway. I just hope they don't go too far with it, such as what they did with BF2142. I'm not really into calling a company and telling them I reinstalled my game due to my 'puter screwin' up. Though I'd rather have a boxed physical copy and having a cd instead of downloading it from a site. It's just easier that way. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. i'm sure you will need an account for this game - pretty essential for a ranked online shooter.
so far dice have been ok with 'anti-piracy' measures - even though there may be single-player elements, battlefield is about online play - and you'll need a cd key to join in. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number mickey megabyte 1234 OS ultimate 64 sp1 CPU i5 2500K 3.3@4.2GHz Motherboard MSI P67A-GD53 Memory 8 gigs GSkill Ripjaws 1600 Graphics Card amd hd6950 Sound Card creative x-fi gamer Monitor(s) Displays samsung 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard saitek eclipse ii Mouse logitech g3 PSU antec 550 Case antec three hundred Cooling i'm a cooling fan Hard Drives ocz vertex 2e 60 gig, samsung f3 1tb, buffalo 2tb ext Internet Speed about 4 Mbps Other Info i love win7 |

I'll be getting this on release day, just hope I can find a coupon to lower the price. $60 is more than worth it for the game, I personally don't like paying that much though. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 3770K Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD6950 2GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage

The cd-key thing isn't what I meant, lol. I'm so used to games needing cd-keys it doesn't bother me. I just meant needing something like Steam to install the game (boxed versions, not online download).
Creating an online account to play online isn't bad, more like expected and needed. But to create an online account to play offline? No thanks, not interested. That's what I was talking about with BF2142. You needed an online account just to play offline, and I didn't really like playing that game online. I just played for a short-while before declaring the game a failure. The maps were so big, and the game was pretty oriented around the machines more than the human bodies. 'Course they might have changed that in patches or whatever, but I never grabbed the patches.
Though I do have to say BF3 looks fairly interesting so far. I have a friend who's really interested in BF3, too. He was pretty interested in BF2 for a good while. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. When you ran the game, you chose offline account and played with yourself against the bots.
When you played online, you need an online account and then the CD-Key gets tied to your online account so the only way to sell the game is to give the account with it.
