So I was looking for a new FPS Game to play

so I did my homework and search in Google... Gamespot is usually on the first few links.

I start going through the list and one game catches my eyes "Painkiller:Redemption" because it was released on the 25th of this month (3 days ago). Cool, I tell myself and I immediately look at the Review Score 4.3 (32 votes). I mean, that is way low even for Gamespot which usually rates all the games higher than what they should be.

I'm bored so I decide to check why the game is that bad and I click on the members that had review it... we definitely have a winner here:

At this point, i think that the painkiller franchise should just die.

I thought it was hilarious!

Serious Sam 3: BFE detailed, more screens released | Joystiq

From what I have seen so far gameplay is supposed to be along the lines of SS:FE and SS:SE.

Bulletstorm might be cool- it is people can fly and epic- not sure what ea is for- store maybe or publisher. Maybe short or buggy too. You might have ut engine probs. I do not think epic can much redeem its self after ut3 and if they plan on ports. I think ut04 is or will be the last great epic game or fps anyway..

Most games that use the ut engine or these days is not a true ut3 engine game like gears or ut3- it is a hybrid engine the ut 2.5 with some ut3 features. I was very disappointed with ut3 I can not really see buying any ut game in the future. I have and loved painkiller and booh.

I am not sure what to think about other games using the ut engines and most game makers put out poor or short stuff for the most part, today want 60 bucks for it, then try and hit ya up for dlc's. So I wait until the prices go down- then think about buying- maybe wait for a goty and buy when cheap on steam..

Bioshock and borderlands runs and looks great for me- bio2 was buggy and less fun imo- I think bioshock looks better than the ut3 game tho- ut3 was ugly imo- unless talking about water maybe.

I have waited a long time for rage- I am sad it is bethesda now- It might be ok tho. It was started about the same time as borderlands- but they are different. I think rage is a rps type game like stalker borderlands bioshock etc. So that is my fav genre- I will get it someday. It has been forever, I hope it is not a let down. I think beth will gimp it every way they can tho- we will see.

It is other games I would like to have some a few years old now, others I would wait until the prices drop like said before. I buy when I can. Buying cheap does not hurt so much if games are short and or buggy. I think few are worth full price out of the box- Other than saying I have it- maybe some of the first in mp-

Normally when I buy games my buds what ever have moved on to other games, which is another reason I avoid said mp games. If I can not play with a few folks I trust not to cheat, I see no point.

Rage...Bethseda? Must be a differnt game cos that is a carmack game ..think doom ID etc..just read a story on the game not so long ago

Have Bulletstorm inc...about 5 hrs to beat it so I hear...but its just a fun game or the gameplay vid's I've seen look that way

Homefront will be an awesome game I think..perorderd it already and the new Op Flashpoint when it arrives...it's a little ways off still but the vid's look pretty good

Thanks stormy but I am not into the SciFi FPS games all that much, less so when they have weird creatures and stuff + weird weapons... I guess is one of the reasons I never got into Halo.

I am replaying Timeshift right now and I only did so because I literally had gone through all of the other ones I have.

I got Far Cry 2 with the purchase of a Video Card and I endure the first half but couldn't continue... sometimes, you gotta draw the line somewhere!

But I digress... my point was more that I really had a good laugh with what that guy wrote about the game!

I have and liked frontlines fuel of war- might install it again and play on my new system- really wish I had a better video card tho.

Front lines had some odd weapons or site. Tanks was cool- I had fits trying to fly the chopper- Ha ha I killed what I had too flying side ways or upside down maybe- or cock eyed. I could use it after a few tries but never was good at it. My other friends did not care for it as much and being cheated its first day in mp- I have no friends that even care to try most mp games- I do have a few that will play- but I do not have the games so..

I do have some buds that run and play tight etqw servers and will kick ban and report cheaters- I think about installing it again. It has some odd ball weapons and sites too. It can be fun tho- I would get my butt kicked until I pick it up again and move up in rank etc. If I could play on my buds team I would be in good shape- And I hate playing as a strogg- Tho seems to me they have advantage- could have been cheat stuff too- But I prefer playing as a human. If I started getting kicked because clan members join I would hate that too. I am not sure that happens or not. I guess yes.

Some of those games look cool- but have odd ball fps features or even player movement feels odd or weird guns or something that turns me off- might have other things that make it cool- slo mo or say vats in fo3- I use either lil but can be cool and make up for a poor over all fps part of the game. Maybe a few cool videos or screen shots.

Front lines was linear- I have read a lil on homefront and the other- Not sure I would like them in hand and if only mp games. Maybe if only mp games would be ok if I could play all the same maps but against only bots for practice etc- like ut games or quake games or codwaw zombies etc. Some games you can enter mp maps solo but just walk around - it is no bots to kill, or limited to a few training maps- sucks.

Time shift is a game I would like to get someday- looks cool- real cheap too.. I do not have fear2 or wolfenstein no crysis games none of them. I miss a lot maybe- but I miss a lot of head akes and or my systems are not powerful enough..

I survive- I love some of my games and can play them years more yet.. Get a better video card- I might play most all of them again- might try and mod some older games for more high details etc. Many games just need a few lines tweaked and because the systems are way more powerful can run the old games at more high image quality than back in its day.

I might read some more I have postal2 looking and running great after some tweaks- I wonder what I could do with my return to castle wolfentein or mohaa games maybe painkiller and booh or cod or uo. PK was hard on my other systems. Just my high res alone would make them look better maxed out from the game- Not sure but might have to tweak the game' to work with my wide screen- If I can find such info on google- I am good to go..
