And I'm still going to offer mine.

There's a reason there's choice in the market place.

    Peace

Ya it is pretty amazing- maybe not so much my monitor it was not at the egg long. But pick most any size lcd with multi brands on the page- If going by comment count alone means anything and most all 5 egg rating and folks love them- Asus sells more monitors than all other brands together at newegg- if comment count shows actual sold count- Says a lot to me all by its self:)

Asus monitors can surely have more comments than all the others together- Cost less than the other said better brands too. If I was not a gamer- I would get a said better but more slow monitor or if was rich I would buy the best wide screen even today which is crt- thats right a 10 year old used wide crt sony. Well maybe not the best the gods ever made- but it is close.

Or if had maybe 12,000 grand just to spend on a monitor some medical use lcd I think they are some isp type deally that can do 2ms- it is such things.. And blows away anything some might think they have so great- you need speed for gaming or have ghosting etc- it is a trade off maybe- but that is life- unless using crt.

Trips me out how folks will argue lcd is better than crt- it is newer tech- stuck on newer is better crap- Facts are crt is 1to1 faster and more flexible can set res to what ever- color saturation etc is same for crt and high quality lcd. What might make a lcd said better is takes less desk space not as heavy uses less energy and can make the screens larger- you can only push a crt's tube size but so far- but the old sony 24" wide crt is still a standard by which many lcd's are judged by- still look lovely 10 years old too- lcds start to die off in just a few years- Even tube tvs can last what 20 maybe more years- But hey new is better new tech is better yadda yadda yadda- ya right.

I do like my new monitor tho- like it a lot- big compared to my 17 or 19'' 4:3 crt's well my viewsonic 19 1600x1200 @85hrz was sweet until it died after 6 years of running 24/7. But think I like this better- getting use to wide and all and it is a huge screen- not bad on my eyes either.. Text are larger etc. need reading glasses in my old age- but I keep it pushed back or is more hard to game on- I only have to lean in a lil sometimes to read stuff- not as bad as my smaller crt's tho.

I am happy with my rig- get a better vid card over clock my cpu some- good to go..

Folks can argue newer is better all they want to- other than being only 24" it is hard to beat it even today and that is using a old 10 year monitor against a new lcd- it is just the facts.. Can still find them used..>

I am a member of the OCAU forums...a lot of the guys there are big on Dell 27 inch and up monitors...they use them for gaming and w/e else and I have never read a post/thread to say what crap they were...if any are offered for sale in the for sale section they sell extremely quickly so my guess would be that the monitor's perform very well.

That said I actually use a 24 inch Samsung (syncmaster 2493HM) which other than the fact its a few years old has performed well (response time 5ms) and is a 1920x1200 res.

I agree it's a pity that for the most part you can't just run a game on a demo model somewhere tho.

Thanx for your input guys, I think I might wait till 120Hz screens become more mainstream.

Shame that PC screens arent moving at the same pace as every other piece of PC equipment, (shame on you lazy manufactures LOL) other wise we would all be gaming on 30" screens @ 120Hz with a 1ms response time, res of 2560x1600 for around $100. dream, dream, dream

    Cheers
