That is not a good sign but expected I guess... dumb down is the key word now a days with pretty much all the games... bunch of cut scenes, choke points city to make it seem like a long campaign

I'm guessing you're not an SP but an MP gamer then? otherwise, if people are canning it, why would you go ahead and pay premium price now... more so for the Collectors Edition?

No, seriously, not trying to piss on your cheerios or anything like that, just trying to learn something other than my own logic

I preorderd a long time ago...when EB first listed it. I did buy it for the SP but will be looking at the MP. I'm waiting on BC3 for MP but if this is half way decent it will do as a filler til then.
Have to stop taking notice of reviews etc...they are all in bed with the publishers/devs...I doubt theres a unbiased games review place on the planet..it's just a big bloody scam atm.

Ahhhhh, ok... I thought that the OACU forums was a forum like this one and not an online magazine type forum.

None of my purchases are based on Gamespot, gamestop, IGN or what have you... pretty much I go to the game's forum, here and other forums where I normally hang out and depending on their ratings I decide to purchase it or not.

That is not to say that I have bought some flops but, we all pretty much know what we like so 95% of the time, I like what I buy.

So true. I rarely take any notice of reviews on game sites now. Too tired of reading between the lines.

It all comes down to relying on user comments that give you a more accurate representation. Once you have weeded out all the trolls, fanbois, excitable 'OMG best game evar! kids that is...

From what I've read, my enthusiasm for this game has completely waned. Just another ho-hum once through bang, bang, bang all the way game

I am at a loss then...

If OCAU is a forum like this one (read: NOT own by a magazine) and frequent by individuals like you an me, why would you then say that you have stopped paying attention to their reviews?

To me, reviews from people like here is what I want to hear and Not from "Weeding out all the trolls, fanbois, excitable 'OMG best game evar! kids that is..." like smarteyeball said

LoL..it's the reviews from review sites that I'm saying are biased in favour of whatever game is released. Not the opinions of ppl in a forum like this or OCAU or whatever forum.
Forum users by and large will give you a larger cross section of opinions unlike a paid game review site. Mind you on any forum you will still find your trolls, fanbios, ppl looking to up post counts or just have a hate on for either a developer, publisher or whatever.
In the end you have to decide for yourself whether you want to buy/play whatever game. I mean another man's nighmare is another man's dream.I know a lot of ppl swear the COD series is just the bomb and I personally thought they were just the same shit repeated ad nauseam. I certainly dont buy any COD game now. The first 2 were enough and I only bought the second cos I thought they would improve the second time around. It did'nt.
Are we on the same page now ?

just got homefront. it looks realy nice but haven played it yet as i have no sound ingame apart frm cut scenes.
im more of a single player campaign gamer. well untill i got BFBC2. now its just a killer wait 4 BF3.
hopefully ill sort my sound issue soon n let u guys know wot i think. but as u say ive seen a lot of comments about it bieng completed in 3to4 hrs. why r game makers all consentrating on multi player games now n only makin half arse attempts at a single player game. there r loads of folk who would prefer playin single player campaigns. game makers need 2 pull thier fingers bk out of thier a***s n build some decent sp campaigns
