I am sorry man- but how can you talk this or that and even now- I stand on this or that- Its not in the freaken game-

Re bump your head man- Wake up- it is not in the game not even dx10 is in it- So all you say is bunk- ok period- To make a mistake is one thing- to go on like you are is silly-

Be a man- Say you are wrong and get on with it- do not look like some child fan boy- Please man..

Ya its so refined- you have a nice enough system and vid card- it is dx9- both the other games was dx10- certianly with your system dx9 games should look better. Wake up man..

If others have not said yet it has no aa or custom settings and no surround monitor either.

Ya being dx9 and no aa it should walk across the floor and bark and hump your leg too- it is what it is- Sorry.

    Take care see ya..

I think it sucks it has been billed and sold as a dx11 game and is not- not even dx10.. It should be courts and them out of business. It is not right its a rip off- add it later or not- its not right. not at all and is because of port crap..

You only get crap like this in the computer world- No other industry can do 1/5 the crap the pc world or even ms gets away with..

Ha ha you paid premium for a new car with a v12 engine- yet find out it has a 4 banger- its a riot- It is sickening.. Ha ha the v12 engine will not even be out until next year- Gees..

Yeah whatever works for you, does not change the fact windows is labeling it a dx11 application.
I had 8800gtx's in sli for the original crysis, it didn't look as nice maxed as this does on 'advanced'

Nor does it look any better now on this newer card. DX10 shaders are actually rather easy to spot, they're grainy and bordering on oppressive in nature. DX9 shaders are even worse, usually they end up making faces and moving objects just flicker because the engine can't determine where the surface should matte.

You're looking for a argument here though and I'm sensing 'issues' I'm unsubscribing from this thread, have a nice life.

Sorry man what ever- I stand on facts- it is you carrying on with the silliness- get over it man.

I do not know you or care and not trying to fight with you either. As a fact it the game pisses me off and has nothing to do with you- it is games and the pc world or w7 or ms or gfwl or what ever as a whole. And bug crap and getting over on folks. It is not right.

You make your self look silly not me- point at me all you like- just notice those 3 fingers pointing back at you.

Ha ha I am upset for ya- In your corner really- You just do not care to see it is all- what ever man..

It it makes ya feel better- I am sorry- and sorry I am not elegant or girl like- pc what ever you might wish for.

As a fact I am upset for my bud on the other site I normally hang out at- and just posted all this info there. I am sure he does not know all of this. I also hope others see and read and do not buy it or return it and wait and pay half price or less for it. Crytek can go under for all I care. I do not think I will ever buy anything from them cheap or not, so.

    See ya..

It's been noted all over the place that the game isn't DX11 (yet) -

    - Where's IGN's Crysis 2 PC Review? - PC News at IGN
    - Crysis 2 ... anybody got it yet?

It's also been stated that there's a patch coming that will make the game DX11 - but it hasn't been released yet.

Supports DX9 and DX11, DX11 will be patched in post release
    - List of games with DirectX 11 support - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for Windows 7 and DX11 games..... See item #6 here - Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues

Bottom line: If the game is DX9 that's what Windows 7 will play in.

I'm not saying the game doesn't look good (I don't have it yet), I'm saying it's not running in DX11 mode (unless you have the DX11 patch).

I've just barely dug in at this point.

The graphics are surprisingly clear and functional even at higher settings on my little 5850.

    Anyhow, a few basics.
The suit is now upgradeable, using alien components you find around you can actually increase, or change certain features/modes of the suit, this apparently is also true of multiplayer, (anyone that's played the demo should know that much) The world is persistent and at times almost stunning just to look at. The game does feel noticeably more linear than the original, while you aren't walking down one way corridors and you are left to decide how to handle each engagement. You do get a significantly more start to finish feel from how the game plays out.

This may upset some people, but for me it keeps you from wandering around just for the sake of it.

The storyline (at least as far as I am into it) has a feeling of building up to something epic. I can't really say a whole lot outside of that, weapons and their mods are fairly similiar to how it worked in the first game. (there is a basic weapon menu opened by pressing the appropriate key)

Having toyed with the settings I can tell you, you are really going to miss out with anything but dx11 graphics on this game. There is a noticeable amount of tesselation I can only assume the aliens are going to look like pinkish blobs without tesselation active. (they have a see thru property to them)

As for smoothness of play I've noticed no control problems and as I mentioned above performance is actually above what I expected to get with my mid range card.

That's about all I can say being only an hour or so into the game though.
Thanks Maguscreed, looking good so far then. I was going to touch the point about DX9 vs DX10 vs DX11 because I remember that it was going to be a console port but it doesn't matter really, I have a GTX260 + a 9500GT for PhysX duty and I don't really see myself spending money to get a DX11 card only for this game.

On the other hand, if I can get my hands on a Good (and Cheap... less than 150 bucks) DX11 video card, I might just pull out my 9500GT and use it on my office PC since I hate the ATI onboard I have now ... this way, I am going to have the new DX11 card and use the GTX260 for PhysX duty and I that will be the extent of my pc upgrades for this year.

Funny, I consider my single 9800GTX+ to be little and have been considering upgrading to a 5850.
If you can get yourself a 5850 2gb card. Right at this time I would stay away from the 6000 series cards. I have been reading a lot on them and half the people are having problems.

And the other half are still having problems with the 5000 series...

I think a bit of the hype wore off when this was leaked a while back and people discovered it wasn't the same sort of Crysis it used to be.

I'm still reading about that Alleged Big Patch where they will include DX11 and perhaps something else but I am wondering... is it really that easy to just put in DX11 on a game that was totally based on DX9?

I want to believe there is an easy way to do so but still, I am biting my nails because I would like to have the game but I won't until then... dang it!
