Online game platforms...

Been trying out some online game platforms like Steam and Gametap but have been having some issues...

Steam just stopped working... can no long d/l, delete or play games, and Gametap is letting me install games but no longer lets me launch them... all my drivers are upto date and have tried all the trouble shooting tips on both sites but no luck...

I am not getting any errors games just don't launch.

anyone have suggestions?

Sounds like a 'privilege' issue. Try opening the shortcuts properties, click on 'Compatibility', check the 'Run as Administrator' box, and click apply/OK. You may also want to do the same for any and all game executables directly.

Though I find it odd for steam to have issue, Im an avid steam user, and it functions entirely correctly without using the administrator check.. But, try it anyway, and report back.

Steam is working fine now... but gametap isn't... I have to uninstall steam to run gametap according to gametap support so am trying that now...

Also might be zonealarm... think I am gonna ditch it and just go with windows 7 firewall.
