    Warcraft 3 Issues

    Hi,

I have search and tried fixes on this site and elsewhere but still I am unable to make Warcraft III LAN game on GArena work. I am able to access a room in GArena, but when joining a game, I am unable to. And when creating a game (from LAN) it shows Game in not found. Although I am able to play in Custom Game single player mode. I have a genuine Win 7 64bit, running on i5 with 8gb RAM and 1gb vid card. I did try reinstalling the game in WIN XP SP2 compatibility, but same results. Is there anyone who has actually played online in GArena on a similar setup, kindly give me the details. AV is Symantec. I have also done configuring por-tforwarding. And to the best of my knowledge, I think I was able to set it up correctly. Opening 6100-6200 for both GArena and WC3.

I know this wont fix your issue with GArena, but why not try using Hamachi instead, it has been working well for me for a long time, i have never had any issues with it playing Warcraft III.

Could use it as an alternate. Still hoping to see if there would be solutions for this. And as for GArena, they have implemented an IP scan to see which games you could join. And it failed, since I could not see the country (room) I am in right now, but I could see nearby countries (room).

I can understand that GArena is a little more hardcore anyway. Have a look at this guide it may help.

I was able to play it in WinXP before. But after the upgrade, things did not turn out as expected. GArena forum also said that SG did a tweak in GArena, which did nothing but make things harder for me. <so sad> Still could not figure out if the problem is in WC3 or in GArena.

yes.. "Opening 6100-6200 for both GArena and WC3.".. UDP and TCP ports. But one problem stated though is the message saying "Game is not found".

At this point, I would try to mimic the problem using other programs. So try hamachi, lancraft, etc and see if you can get a lan game going.
