    Modern Warfare 3 announcement coming?

Sources say it will be unveiled in mid-April While we know that Activision is planning for a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release this year, officially Activision has had nothing yet to say about it beyond some vague references to a COD release this year and to investors.

Now we have learned from our sources that Activision is said to be announcing the next chapter in the COD franchise, which is believed to be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in the middle of April. It is believed according to our sources that Infinity Ward is still the lead developer for the project, but they are getting assistance from Sledgehammer and Raven with the development.

As for what might be in Modern Warfare 3, most people suspect that it will be a continuation of the story line from Modern Warfare 2, with Soap and Price on the run after being set up. It is unclear really at this point what might be in store for the latest version, but with DICE turning up their game with Battlefield 3, it goes without saying that Modern Warfare 3 needs to be good.

An announcement in April does seem to fit what we have seen from Activision in the past as far as announcements for the next Call of Duty title, as Black Ops was announced at the end of April. It is suspected that Activision is planning for a November release for Modern Warfare 3; and with Battlefield 3 dominating the headlines as of late, it is not surprising that Activision might want to start the media blitz for Modern Warfare 3 by building some momentum prior to a peek at E3 in June.

After the last few COD - it's hard to get that excited about this franchise any more.

An overhaul of the SP campaign 'endless enemies spawn till next checkpoint where endless enemies spawn' mechanics would be a welcome change.

If the MP system is done in a way to keep hack/servers out it will sell. If not CoD:5ail part II.

But that is true with many many (if not all) of the greatest franchises and or potential franchises... Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Far Cry, etc, etc... more so when the dumbing down started for Consoles.

Now, I agree with you 100%... at least you don't have to kill the impossible Boss like many other games but the final action is still the same

The storyline of MW2 was superb though... if you played the SP Campaign and you are not till upset and pissed off at General Shepherd, there is definitely something very wrong with you

After MW2 mess with no dedicated servers Im seeing it being a console only setup. It just goes to show that they are getting really scared over BF3 and how its taken DICE a few years to get BF3 going and they are doing their best to make the game look good and run well on their new engine. Lets wait till then end of April and see what Activision pulls up for COD.
One last comment as for Activision pushing games out and killing them looks like they are on a good run with COD:MW didnt the lead Dev leave the company after MW2 was finished??

CoD:MW5million. It's going to be a console game on an engine that was at it's best for MW1. The Q3 engine is now well and truely past it's best before date. I heard on the grapevine that ID were making a new engine, but how true that is I don't know. It's worrying that the Q3 engine is older than most of it's players now, yet the fanbois don't realise this and think the BO engine is "totally different" to the MW2 engine.

    Polish a turd, it's still a turd.

All I can really say to CoD now is "meh". The first few Call of Duty's were great. MW1 was, but then it's all the same now.

My thoughts exactly, i would have to see some pretty impressive things coming from this game to even notice anymore.

My opinion COD is crap basiclly since this game was brought out fairplay it brought alot of attention to gamers especially for the so calle "PS3" but this game is getting to old while new games are just getting better and better COD is the same thing and always has been for overall years the only thing that is different throughout COD is maps i believe and futuristic equipment but guys look at bad company 2 ? I mean COD will never ever be able to step up to the standards as that and there releasing a battlefield 3 ! Crysis 2 ? Hands down best performance game ive ever played absolutley amazing all im saying is COD need to up there game big time if they want to compete with battlefield and crysis and i mean

    BIG TIME!

I lost all interest in COD games after the second game which was the same as the first game...add no dedicated servers for the MP in the MW games and it was complete..
BC2 had its faults but DICE at least fixed stuff on MP asap, cheats/hackers were kicked asap, dedicated servers etc..been playing it until Crysis 2 MP came out...and its stuffed cos of hackers .

BC3 will imo be a FAR SUPERIOR game to MW3...I know which one I'm going to be buying :)
