Performance Issues with Oblivion.

So I bought the Deluxe edition on steam about two weeks ago and I've been getting abysmal fps drops. It' start at at around 100 and drop almost immediately to the 10-20 range, and it usually stay there. If tried with mods, without mods, uninstalling and reinstalling and still the issue remains. I have a 5850 and I've sure I shouldn't have these issue especially without mods.

I have had some problems with AMD drivers recently however. Sometimes while I watch videos (usually more then one at a time) the driver stops working, but recovers. I hear this is apparently an issue because of Windows aero, but I did have problems installing new drivers in which I would get a warning message when CCC finished installing. Oblivion is the only game I'm having problems with.

Oblivion's still one of the best out there.. it's a beautiful game..

- just a suggestion..

go over to AMD and grab the latest CAP, here:
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...-profiles.aspx

download and install it..

then enable the crossfire application in CCC, never mind that you have a single card
- it's supposed to provide you with some extra gfx enhancements..

- worth a try..
