Hello everyone, it is my first time on these forums. Firstly, I have to say I absolutely love Windows 7. It's XP and Vista combined, so I get the pretty graphics of Vista and the speed of XP. I haven't used Vista that much so I was unfamiliar with Windows 7 for first-time use.

So here's problem: I can't play nazi zombies with my friends via Hamachi.

When I had Windows XP, everything was fine, but with all the new features and securities of Windows 7, I couldn't connect to or people couldn't connect to my games. When I host a LAN game, my friends can see my game, but they can't connect to it. When my friends host a game, I can't see it all. At first I thought it was something to do with Windows 7 firewall and my router's ports. My router was already configured so I eliminated that as a problem. Now the Windows 7 firewall, I turned it off, all of it (Domain, Home and Private). Still no luck. I even allowed it through the rules section of Windows 7 securities, but then again the firewall is off so configuring the rules wouldn't do anything.

The rest of my friends are using Windows XP and I'm the only one with Windows 7. We are all using Hamachi 1.0.1.5 (the most compatible version with no problems so far). I've tested it with the latest Hamachi (1.0.3.0), but that still didn't work either. Hamachi 1.0.3.0. is better for Vista/Windows 7 users, because Windows actually detects it as a network where you can change between Home and Private network and identifies it as a LAN connection. Hamachi 1.0.1.5 however shows the connection as only Private and you can't change it and it shows it as a uknown connection, but it still enabled and connected.

Before Windows 7, we had no problems whatsoever. Does anyone know what is the problem or know of any solutions to fix this?

Note: My other computer which is connected to my router has World At War installed as well and I hosted a lan game and both our computers can connect to each other no problem (this is without hamachi). With hamachi turned on, we can't connect thus the original problem. I strongly believe that is not a router issue, because nothing of it has been changed and it has been working before (I am able to host games online, just not LAN via Hamachi). It's something to do with Windows 7, I know they're not officially done with it yet, but I think it should still work, because I'm using Windows 7 (build 7264) which is the RTM (release to manufacturer) version.

I know this is kind of a long thread and I appreciate you just reading it. But if someone has a solution, you will be praised. Thanks everyone.

The error when they try to connect to me is the game session is no longer available or something (which is similar to router problems) but that's not the problem. I can't even see the game when they make.

First make sure all of you guys have the same game version 1.4.
then make sure you all have the same lan fix.
also check if you guys can ping each other through hamachi.
oh i almost forgot, have everyone have the same hamachi version as you

here i found this
"if u have vista… to fix it u have to turn on the game in administrator’s acount… so right click on the shortcut and press: “Run as administrator"… that’s especially important when it comes to the host computer… :)"
try that

The following steps are the least you'll need to do in order to play most games:

How the metrics and the Hamachi properties should look like in Vista.

1. After installing Hamachi, run it once and insure you've configured your firewall properly and have set port forwarding on your router(s) (if you have one).

2. Re-prioritize your network adapter order:
For XP/2000: Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, then, on the menu bar, click Advanced > Advanced Settings and put Hamachi at the top of the list.

For Vista: Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, then, on the left side panel, click on 'Manage Network Connections'. Now press Alt, click on Advanced > Advanced Settings and put Hamachi at the top of the list.

3. Configure the gateway and metrics:
In Network Connections right click on Hamachi > Properties, select TCP/IP(v4) > Properties > Advanced. Ensure that the default gateway is 5.0.0.1, if not, then add/edit it and set its metric to Automatic (this is the Gateway Metric).
Below 'Default gateways' tick 'Automatic metric' (this is the Interface Metric).

Quick notice: Some users have reported that their internet connection fails when Hamachi is turned on. Removing the Hamachi gateway (5.0.0.1) should resolve the problem. It is not known why this is happening, but it might be the ISP's fault. Entering a Gateway Metric manually (for example, the default "1500") can restore the internet connection, but gaming functionality may still not be available.
4. If you're running Vista disable TCP/IPv6 (untick it in the Hamachi properties)

5. If you're running Vista ensure that Hamachi appears in the 'Network and Sharing Center' as a 'Private Network' .
If it doesn't, then press customize (at Hamachi, of course) and set it to 'Private Network'.

6. Reboot.

7. Create/Join a Hamachi network and check to see if you can ping/chat with one another. If either one of these don't work ensure you haven't forgotten anything and check again. Still not working? check section 3.1 and 3.2 of the 'Advanced Guide' below.

8. The game host must be running Vista when playing with XP users!

I managed to get co-op working by:
1. Downloading hamachi 1.0.1.5 (Only working version)
2. Downloading Call.of.Duty.5.LANFiX (gamecopy world)

LanFiX is different from private server. Private server is for Multiplayer not co-op. In order for CO-OP to work you need LanFiX

3. Disable windows firewall
4. Launch via lanfix.exe in main folder
5. Co-op start server - disable pb and wait in lobby
6. Friend launches lanfix.exe
7. Friend goes find game and connects
8. Play game

People with Vista can play but they need to host

here s another source. hopefully you will be able to resolve your problems

Hello, i did that tutorial, but still have problem, i can't see any servers, only people can join to my server. But the mainly problem is when i'm starting the game, it is loading much time, and people get kicked "connection timed out" before the game starts...

I have a similar problem too I followed your steps 1337, but my problem is when i host with win7 people can see my game that have vista or xp, but if the other person has win7 they cant see my game, or if the host is running win7 and I am on win7 I can see his game or sometimes it shows up but when you try to connect it says game session no longer available. both pc's have lanfix 1.5 and running latest version of hamachi also tried the older version as well with no luck, have no problems connecting to games when i host with XP and the other pc is on win7. firewalls are disable as well other games that I play on hamachi are fine. I also ran games as admin, please help, thanks in advance.

ok first every body that is going to play needs hamachi 1.0.1.5. second make sure all of you can ping each other. also make sure the other people that have windows 7 also follow those steps, then have them host the game again and try connecting

Hello, i did that tutorial, but still have problem, i can't see any servers, only people can join to my server. But the mainly problem is when i'm starting the game, it is loading much time, and people get kicked "connection timed out" before the game starts...

do you have xp, vista or 7, also what do the other people have. ALso make sure your firewall isnt blocking them. Further everyone needs the same hamachi version 1.0.1.5 and they all need to run the game by lan fix

I and the other person has windows 7 x64 ultimate (7600)RTM, I myself also have xp pro sp3, and we all have the same hamachi version. Both pc's ran wthout firewalls host and client. The wierd thing is that If i use xp and the other person is on windows7 I can host and he can host and we can both connect to each other but if we both use windows7 I cant see any games if he hosts and he cant see any games if i host. both using same lan fix, running as admin.

The problem may then have to be hamachi, many people reported this error. you could try wippien, it is like hamachi in sense.
