    Crysis (Error 1334) What Gives?

First off, allow me to say hello to you all here; I've been an on again off again lurker for a few months and once this problem arose I decided now was as good of a time as any to join up.

On to the problem at hand - I just made the jump to 7 this past Friday and while everything is as great as I can remember since using the RC, I'm having a problem I've never had before: Crysis, or rather the 1.2 patch (even the 1.1) absolutely refuses to install due to the aforementioned error in the thread's title. I've tried/done everything I could find on the matter and nothing has worked. I can play the game just fine, I haven't edited any files, PunkBuster is installed, and everything else is in good-working order. W7 is up to date, as are my graphic drivers and everything else. It's beginning to irritate the living hell out of me considering I've never had this problem in XP (32-bit) before.

Here's the prompt for reference sake:

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Where did you get the game from?

Try updating the DirectX files and see what happens - DirectX Redist (June 2010)

I have Crysis installed on my machine with all patches installed. Windows 7 x64.

    J & R Music World.

I'll try that and see what happens though.

EDIT: Didn't work. Same error message pops up.

Hehe.... J & R Music - use to love that store back in the 70's for my music.

Anyway try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, patch.

Also, if you're trying to install the 1.2.1 patch first, you need to install the 1.2 patch before installing the 1.2.1 patch. In short, start with the 1.2 patch, then 1.2.1 patch.

    Let me know.

Tried the uninstall, reinstall, and trying to immediately patch it afterwards thing already - 'twas a no-go. And I'm definitely using (well, trying to use) 1.2 and not the 1.2.1 hotfix.

Hmmm.... don't know what to say right now. I know the game is compatible with Windows 7 x64. I have it installed on my system with SP1 installed.

So, the game installs, but not the patch?

Edit: Look here - inCrysis - Crysis Forums / Solutions for Patch 1.1 Installation Error. Is the DVD in the drive while installing the patch?

    That's right.

And I've tried downloading it from other reliable sites as well and it was still a no-go. I'm going to try installing it on to my F3's second partition and see if it could a problem with my Raptor. If you can think of anything else (assuming like everything else that this won't work) let me know. Thanks.

Well the only other thing I can suggest is to redownload the patches. Other than that I have nothing else right now.

If I think of something I'll post. One thing I will I will say though is to look through here - something may give you an idea - Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues

    Good luck.
