Quite the in-depth guide there and while I do appreciate all of the help you've provided thus far none of it seems to be the problem, or solves the problem I'm having - which for the life of me, I just don't understand.

Well as I said before I'm at a loss on why you can't get the patch to install. You say you looked at the link I provided for the issue but found nothing there to help as well. With that I can only suggest you give EA a call and see if they can get the disk replaced, or see if they have a fix.
Sorry.
On a brand new installation of 7 on the second partition of the F3, and it still won't install the damn patch.
The error code however is slightly different. Now it reads as follows: "Error 1334. The file zpatch1.pak cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'PCW_CAB_Family2'." What do I do?
Have you tried getting the patch from another place? Maybe the patch is corrupt. Seems strange the game installs fine but the patch won't install.
Have you seen this thread? - Crysis Update 1.2 available - Crysis Tech Help - Crysis: EA Forums
BTW what version is Crysis showing in you "Games" folder?
Mines show 1.2.0 which it correct. If yours is showing the same, you've already got the latest patch.
Can't check at the moment as I'm back on XP, but I'm downloading the patch from the EA link now. So we'll see how that goes.
I do remember seeing 1.0.0 in the Add/Remove section of the CP.
EDIT: That also didn't work, even with a verified signature. I give up. I don't even care anymore. If I want to play it updated I'll just have to do it through XP.

It...it installed.
I don't know how. I don't care how. It installed!
Strange.
Can you find the missing file with explorer on your HD?
If it is there, but the patch could not find it, perhaps your register has an error.
Perhaps you can try to uninstall and than run a reg cleaner.
Good luck
Yeah. I just downloaded the patch again from the EA forum link you provided, and it just went through the entire process without a problem. I don't know what's changed but I'm certainly glad it did change. Now I can erase the save game folder from my XP partition and just back this one up (since I've gotten farther anyway).
Thanks.
