Deus ex do look very nice- so to Rage and Bioshock Infinity. The next dlc for FO Vegas looks nice too. Stalker2 FarCry3 and the new Batman FEAR3 all look like they might be pretty nice.. Some mods for Stalker soc and cop Lost Alpha and Way Of The Wolf look nice also.

Deus Ex and Skyrim are my 2 must haves this year.
Doing some research on Skyrim I came accross this.....

    LOL

Anyway I've never played Elder Scrolls, but Skyrim looks bad ass :)
You missed out with Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion. That was a game to rival other games of its time. Lower quality graphics (but still good), open world, non-linear, horse riding and swimming, bow and swordplay and magic, role play, customization, I could go on! It truely was a favorite of mine, still worth playing today. Believe you can play it on Win 7 quite well.

    You forgetting about ME3?
Actually pre-ordered this game, and can't wait. Loved the first two, sad to hear it may be postponed though. Don't mind, so long as they work out all the kinks in-game

Yeah I heard a lot about Oblivion when Fallout 3 came out as there were lots of comparisons to it. Anyway I never played the game, never even heard of it before Fallout 3 as I just played first person shooters back then.

Outside of Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 1 & 2, my first true non-gun toting RPG game was Dragon Age: Origins. Didn't think I'd like Dragon Age but bought it anyway because of all the hype (sort of like what The Witcher 2 is getting now), anyway once I played it I loved it so much that I bought Awakening and Dragon Age 2.

With that said I might look into getting Oblivion later on down the line, assuming it can be played under Windows 7.

    Thanks.

Me3 was on that list for sure :)

    But ...
    Mass Effect 3 delayed to Q1 2012 - Shacknews.com

    Damn

Suppose it's better though. Skyrim and ME3 coming out around the same time would have just been chaos.

I got my Oblovion GOTY edition through STEAM a while back when it was on sale for $8.

I've not had any issues with it under Win7 x64.

Although the game is a bit older, with a few texture mods, it can still look quite nice.

I really like it. In a sense, it a bit like fallout gameplay-wise, only w/magic and swords etc.

It has some issues as most of Bethsedas games. The stuttering that the can be present in the engine. Oblivion seems to suffer a bit more than fallout though.
But I did find the Script Extender and Anti-Stutter plug-in work quite nicely.

Overall however, the game does run pretty good, and the gameplay is good.

    Thanks for the info Wishmaster.

And yeah no ME3 till 2012 is a bummer but hopefully Deus Ex will make up till then.
It this gives me time to do another run through of ME2 so I can save all my crew members (again). I had a save where I saved them before but for the life of me I can't find where I put it and thus may have inadvertently deleted it

Yea I'd recommend Oblivion as well. You'd get a bit of a feel for Skyrim as well as Skyrim as a sequel to Oblivion.

And yea it is annoying about ME3. I knew it had been pushed back a bit, but not in to 2012.

My most wanted games this year are probably Red Orchestra 2, Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Skyrim. Maybe Star Wars: The Old Republic. And maybe Call of Juarez: The Cartel. Loved the first two CoJ games, but this one is a completely different setting.

was actually thinking about getting witcher 2 and skyrim. Honestly, Skyrim looks a lot like Oblivion. I wonder if it is worth prebuying, or if I should wait for the price to fall. The Witcher 2 should be out now right? Does anyone have anything on that game, I've seen gameplay and it does look pretty exciting

True, true. But I wasn't exactly sure the Witcher 2 had come out yet, didn't realize there were posts on it. But wait a minute, thought this WAS the gaming forum!

It does look fantastic though doesn't it? I just may have a spur of the moment purchase of that game there. Its up there with Skyrim for me.
