    Modern Warfare 3... First Look

I would have liked to have seen a trailer or action scene but I guess this will have to do for now...

I thought we were going to Russia to kick some ass but I guess New York has paid money to become the center of all attacks... including Aliens and such. All we need now is for GFRS to be in New York as well

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 First Look Preview - PC Previews at GameSpot

Things I like and dislike about the game...

    • In true Call of Duty fashion, you're moving through a tightly scripted pathway without much opportunity to veer off and explore at your own leisure...
    • special new attachment that could be swapped from a red dot sight to a magnified ACOG sight with a simple twist of the wrist...
    • Then there was another gun that we couldn't quite make out, but it appeared to have the form factor of a sniper rifle with the ability to lob grenades using a pinpoint, heavily magnified sniper rifle zoom...

Can't wait for the demo... more so because I have enjoyed a good game in quiet a while.

I hope they create a DX11/10 version, DX9 is just too old now

So far, I have only seen Crysis 2 played on DX9 and I have to object as the game looked very good even for DX9 graphics.

IMHO, I rather have a better story for the Campaign, awesome gameplay, replayability than LEET or EPIC graphics... but that's just me!

Now, if all the newer FPS games that are coing out are DX11 and there is a significance overall improvement (not just graphics)... I may have to pull the pin on a DX11 GPU. For the time being, my EVGA GTX260 has not let me down.

    *yawn*

Sounds like the same old tried and true massacre fatigue gameplay. Again...

IDK about MW3 I stayed away from MW2 after the no dedicated server for online, and after it came out I read a lot about it and how it was just a "console port" and the development team having all the issues it had. I think with all that it killed any CoD for me, but i will wait and take a look at this game as it gets closer to release but im not buying on launch BF3 has my money around that time.

I'm with you smarteyeball, I am with you but, after looking and playing a few other FPS for a couple of minutes, I gotta say... I keep going back to the MW2 Campaign and the Solo Missions it brings.

Why? 3 words... everything works well.

It pains me to say it and again, I would love the game to be slowed down more, have some tactical and stealth missions but, Ghost Recon or Rainbox Six this is not and it won't ever be so... I'll take what I can get.

I am hoping that BF3 will bring something to the game and if they both give us Demo, I will be the one who is better but I liked MW2 more than I like BF2... I am talking about the Campaign of course!

No denying MW2 is solid. It's probably my favourite of the series.

But as it stands now, for me the franchise has become incredibly stale and ultimately boring.

I'm with you on slowing it down and changing and adding some new elements, but I have zero hope that it will bring anything new to the table.

yeah, Ghost Recon / Rainbow Six it definitely isn't - which is a pity. I'd love me a new Rainbow Six :)

FPS's are one of my favorite genres. Except ever since Wolfenstein 3D, they are all the same. Forget the pretty graphics. You now have the same MP44, the same M4, the same old .45 and gameplay that lasts for barely 5 hrs. So I won't be queuing up to buy it. Sure CoD is a shooter done very well but its nothing special. Even worse it will be another weak console port. Its time for a thinking (GASP!) shooter that isn't linear . . . but with lots of shooting. Think Mass Effect.
