I have an issue with is during quick cut sceens and violent crashes I get some strange color paterns and pixelating it very brief but annoying.
Codemasters seem to have a hard on for that technique because it's popped in a few of their games recently.

It's even in operation Flashpoint Red River during gameplay which is supposed to be a war sim

I never did play much of Dirt 2 to care for it (all the between game yo yo kewl mad skillz banter shit really turned me off)

But I do have Dirt 3 here so maybe it might be worth putting a bit of time into it after watching Daves vid.
indeed, add me on GFWL patrick, my gamertag is on my SF profile :)

DiRT 3 is a lot better but it still has the "americanification"(It's not meant as an insult btw) of DiRT 2, they should have just called it "Ken Block's DiRT 2" And "Ken Block's DiRT 3" lol

It's solved now guys, it was due to windows live ID sign in assistant, it's designed to reconnect after 2 minutes, and that's what happened with my game, it stuttered every 2 minutes.

I've come to the same conclusion, however a reinstall of all associated GFWL applications (after a thorough scrub and reboot) has netted me exactly nothing. I still have the stuttering every 3 minutes or so (28 to 30 blips), returning to normal function untill the nex 3 minutes is up.

    What's the real fix?

MrNeeds, how did you fix this issue. I am having the same stuttering problem on every graphics setting. Do I need to install the Login Assistant to disable this interruption with Dirt 3?

You need to remove windows live ID sign in assistant from your installed programs list, then reboot, go to Microsoft.com and download the windows live ID sign in assistant (6.5 I think), here's the link > Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Sign-in Assistant after reinstalling it, reboot and try it out

This did not help. Reinstalling the Sign In Assistant created the same problem.

I uninstalled the Sign In Assistant and I have been playing skip free! It's great that method worked for you but those exact directions did not work for me. I have yet to see any problems arise from not having the sign in assistant installed.

You are my hero for helping point me in the right direction. Unfortunately I can't blame my constant house hitting on that funky quirk anymore. Guess its time to get some real racing skills. Great video dude and thanks a ton!

Ok guys I found solution wich works for me, I hope it does for you too. I plugged in old ps2 keyboard, and that fixed the lag. I was looking for solution all week, nothing worked, and then finally I solved it.

Post this solution on any forum where other people have this problem.

pm: I say that because I tried everything, and I mean everything, reinstalling windows live, reinstalling game from e: to c: disabled audio devices, tried to set dx9 to true, compability modes, bios settings...
