    Sims 3 trouble Installing...please help!!!

I've been using windows vista before and had played the sims 3 on it. It was fine until I'm now using windows 7 on Acer Aspire 4925 aged 1 and a half year. I tried to installed the game again but it pop out an Error box saying 'Error 1310. Error writing to file..bla..bla please verify that you have access to that directory'. SO i just push the button saying 'ignore', it started installing as usual, and I follow all the instruction. When I finally launch it it pop out again an error box saying 'could not locate [..\..\GameData][AssetsBuiltDir]
    I had already tried:-
    - re-installed (many times!)
    - update the DirectX
    - tried the Run...unreg thing...(for the Error 1310..)
    - scanning the problem
    - copying files manually..hehe
    - installed in different files @ places

I notice it wont copy some of the files in Game Date...the custom music thing...I guess. Please help, I think it have anything to do woth my laptop and I really miss that game. Any reasonable suggestion will pleased me so much~

It was not resigned to run in Windows 7.
If you have the game installed, right click the icon for the game and select "Properties" then go to "Compatibility."
Then check the box that has "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows Vista or Windows XP SP3 and it should run without problems.

Hello Kiera90 go to Windows Compatibility Center, type in your software's name and check to see if it will run on Win7 or if there are advices for it.

Also follow this tutorial Use System File Checker.

You need the Windows 7 Updates first.

You can install the updates from here:

Hi, welcome to the forum :)

You may want to try right-clicking the setup file and selecting Run as Administrator. If you're getting read/write verification errors then it could be a permissions problem. Running as the hidden admin should solve this.
