Just Cause 2 DirectX Fatal Error

Hello, before I start, I know this has been posted before I just can't find an answer that works!!

I had the same problem yesterday, When I installed the game. My laptop wouldn't even switch on properly yesterday, That is now fixed and I'm still having game issues.

I Installed steam then Just Cause, took about 2 hours. It said it was ready to play so I clicked played, A black screen comes up, flashes a few times, the a box comes up.

    Error

    Fatal DirectX error!
    Code: 15
    Result: 0x80070057: E_INVALIDARG

The game will now exit. Try starting the game with /failsafe if the problem persists

    I have windows 7 Home premium x64

I'm only 13 so I don't know how to do much on laptops so don't be to harsh please.

    Hi wildilwh09,

What graphics card do you have? What processor do you have? Please fill out your system specs. If you don't know how to, click here.

Also, try updating your graphics card drivers as well as DirectX. I've linked the DirectX website below. It should have some type of update section.
Learn about DirectX - Games For Windows

    Hope this helps,
    Jaidyn

intel i3, 4 gigs of ram... you should be able to play Just Cause 2 without a single hitch, unless the Graphics Card is integrated, which of course means that the laptop was not designed for gaming.

However, first of all, you need to update DirectX drivers from Microsoft that all video games use in order to work on the PC. You can download the latest DX here: Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX End-User Runtime

Just download this and start it. Be careful, though, the installer will offer you the "Bing bar" for Internet Explorer, uncheck that if you don't want it and let the installer download and install all the required files. After that, try starting the game again.

The official just cause website says this, i don't know what to do, it seems pointless 2 me
Q: I'm getting a DirectX Fatal Error; "Error Code 15".
A: It's unknown why this happens, though it's possible to fix it. First of all, make sure your DirectX is up to date.

Also download the latest drivers for your GPU and reinstall Just Cause 2. (Do not uninstall manually!)

Well, i'm very dissapointed in this forum, last time I used you, you provided very fast answers, am trying this, "answer off another forum" but PLEASE keep giving me answers!

I deleted the HDD content of the game via Steam (right click on it and delete game)
and afterwards installed it without the disc, just only via steam.
    Restart afterwards...

Don't be so impatient, we roam all around the forums, and sometimes we simply don't notice a new reply

So here's the deal, if updating DirectX did not help, the next step is to download and install drivers for your graphics card. http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
Make sure you pick Home Premium x64 from the list of operating systems.
    Then click through:

    Product family: Notebook
    Product line: Aspire
    model: 5742
since you have Intel HD graphics, download the one listed as VGA -> Intel -> VGA driver

Just a sidenote, though, in the future, please do not multi-post. If you have something to add to your last post, please use the "Edit" button instead
