Well players, after having ALL of the above symptoms in World at War, I think I have solved it. I used to get random hard shutdowns between 5 and 30 mins....I tried the below and guess what..NO shutdows.....

Go To ->

Control Panel
System and Security
Administrative Tools
Schedule Tasks

Under the Active Tasks panel, I had a task named "RacTask" scheduled to run 1 hour after the power on.
I noticed when the time to start that task comes, my computer reboot...

So I disabled that task, and my computer don't reboot anymore now.

Seems a joke that the RAC service who is the responsible to check the reliability of the system, was the cause of the reboot

Hope this helps as this was driving me crazy.....

Make sure you are patched up to 1.7, you have the latest video drivers for your card and that the last version of DirectX 9 is installed, you can get it from here:
Old Version of DirectX 9.0c (June 2010) Download - OldApps.com

i stated this in another thread, but ill say it again:

what happens is when i launch CoDWaWmp.exe, the splash screen loads, as normal, and then the screen goes black, the computer locks-up, keyboard and mouse unresponsive, i have to reset my computer.

i have looked on many forums, and have tried all of their suggestions, i have set the audio to 24-bit 48000 Hz, and while that fixed the singleplayer (CoDWaW.exe) it did not help the multiplayer, i have also tried removing Treyarch.bik, to no effect, i have also tried every compatibility mode, and it still does not work.

The game did work in windows XP, and i remember i did get it working in windows 7, however i do not remember how i did it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
try reinstalling punkbuster and patching the game to the latest version ,one thing though if it's never been patched you gotta install each patch in order just letting you know http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/p...ty5/patch.html
