GTA SA with W7 HP 64 bit

I'm currently using a Logitech MK300 keyboard/mouse combo. For some reason my mouse has stopped working with the game. I can use the mouse with the option menu but once in the game I cannot control the camara with the mouse. I've changed all the settings. deleted the controller settings file and redid the setting to how I had them before when it worked. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. But I can still not get the mouse to work.

    Any ideas?

Power point is my biggest problem, stop it if installed....other solutions run in 98/ME compatibility mode, run as administrator, or instal in 98/ME mode...

no crack, I purchased the game and have been playing off the retail 2.0 version cd. I use the cheatcodes but they never affected the mouse control before. I can't figure it out.

    try this :

Go to the installation folder :

    X:\ProgramFiles\GTA San Andreas\

    then right click the :

    gta_sa.exe >Troubleshoot compatibility.. set it to Win98

    or

    right click the :

    gta_sa.exe then Properties>Compatibility mode tab>Run this program in compatibiltymode : Win98

GTA: San Andreas and Vice City have this problem where the mouse has issues, I experience it myself. There are three fixes:

    a) Go in the pause menu, shake the mouse vigorously then go back to game. Repeat this until mouse works (stupid temporary solution but it works).

    b) Use the mouse plugged into the PS/2 port, use an adapter if its a USB mouse.

    c) Run the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode. Note: Once you start the game from this mode, you won't be able to see your save games. That is because it will be looking for save data in the Users/Public folder, so go into Documents, and move the folder GTA San Andreas User Files to the Public folder (best solution).

I've had partial success alt tabbing out of the game and clicking the icon in the task bar to open the game again, that's how I get hte mouse to work in the pause menu.

Option 1 is no go. Option 2 is no go, no legacy ports on this computer. I'll try option 3 and post back on that one. Not sure why this would cause it to just suddenly stop working though, but it's worth a shot.

Ok, option 3 should definitely work, as I have San Andreas too and get these issues...

since i didn't see this option mentioned and it worked for me, so i'll list it here since i was recently having this issue myself (GTA SA stays cool what can i say:)

kill itype.exe (intellipoint) in task manager (if you have a MS mouse and/or keyboard you'll most likely have this running)

Am running it as steamgame and the original shortcut has no option to choose compatibility mode, so might be different for hard copies but worked like a charm for me

it can occasionally still get bugged when reloading a saved game or after having tabbed out and back into the game.

    enjoy
