how did you "connect" the wireless controller to the PC?
Play-and-Charge cable only charges the controller.
You need the MS 360 Wireless Adapter to use the 360 wireless controllers on the PC. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-...g_ai_ps_t3_t_4 | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 3770K Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD6950 2GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage

AS far as software goes, at least for the wired version, there isnt any.
Its just plug and play.
Controls and buttons can sometimes be changed in game, but thats about it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom (Self Build) OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel Core i7 2700k Motherboard eVGA P67 SLI Memory 8GB Mushkin Redline Ridgebacks @1866 Graphics Card EVGA GTX570 SC Sound Card XiFi Titanium HD Monitor(s) Displays LG W2453V Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Saitek Cyborg PSU Seasonic x750 Case Corsair 600T SE White Cooling eVGA Superclocked CPU Cooler Hard Drives Intel 320 80GB -- Intel X25-V 40GB --WD Black 1TB x2 -- WD Blue 640GB Antivirus Kaspersky Browser IE Other Info LG BD/DVD |

i downloaded the driver/software package from MS, but the software that came dosent seem to do anything except let you know your connected and how your battery is doing. would have thought the software would let you assign keys to buttons and use the controller to move the pointer if wanted.
you dont seem to be able to do anything! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number home built OS windows 7 64bit build 7600 CPU Intel I7 920 Motherboard ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 Memory Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz Triple Channel i7 Graphics Card XFX RADEON HD 5870 Sound Card Creative Xfi Elite pro Monitor(s) Displays Hyundai W240D 24" Samsung Syncmaster 930 Screen Resolution 1920x1200 and 1280x1024 Keyboard logitech G15 orange Mouse logitech mx revolution PSU Corsair 850W TX Series PSU Case Coolermaster HAF 932 Full Tower Cooling Noctua NH-U12P Hard Drives WD Velociraptor 150gb

Well one would assume when you buy a Wireless Controller you'd know you need the adapter - So yeah, I might have overlooked post #2

You must have the off-brand adapter then which requires 3rd party software to run. there were a few threads about that in this forum.
the official MS adapter is plug and play with Windows 7 (I have one and use it with my controller).
does your adapter say "XBOX 360" on the top or "Microsoft"
And ya, plenty of people have tried the plug and charge cable thinking that the controller would then work as a wired one. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HAL-9000 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel i7 3770K Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory 16GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XMS3 Graphics Card XFX HD6950 2GB EyeFinity Sound Card Logitech G35 & Sennheiser PC135 & VIA HD Monitor(s) Displays 23" HP 2310e, 23" Samsung B2230, 21.5" Viewsonic Screen Resolution 5760x1080 Keyboard Logitech G15 and G13 Mouse Logitech G700 Gaming Mouse PSU Antec True Power New 650watt Case Cooler Master HAF-932 Cooling Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler, 3x 230mm Fans, 2x120mm Fan Hard Drives 16TB of Storage
