So far everything ive tried has failed, and I DONT want any of the newer updates(1.3 or 1.5), because I like the original gameplay and thats where all my friends are. Also my friends on 32 bit and ultimate of 64 bit dont seem to have this issue, and yes it happened DIRECTLY after SP1.

    Corrupt or wrong patch

Corrupt or old drivers... if you upgraded to SP1, you could have installed the windows drivers for audio and video and they got corrupted.

Download latest drivers for audio and video, uninstall the drivers you got now and install fresh copies of it... good luck

Update your DirectX: Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX End-User Runtime

    Update your GPU.

If still not working... Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it.

    1. Download and install Revo Uninstaller Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems (Check out this tutorial Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Uninstall Programs on how to uninstall with it).

    2. (Make sure your DVD is clean) Insert the disk into your computer and install COD again.

    3. Make sure the disk is inserted and run the game. Report back your success with this here...

SlasherIT, im not going to do what you said because ive already reinstalled everything that COUOLD cause this, plus your sharing what looks like an unsafe link, so I wont click on that. The big problem here is that this game woked the day before I updated to SP1, and now that im in SP1 it no longer works. This looks to me like a problem a microsoft employee needs to answer, however they refuse to answer their own forums, so thats why im here. I know something in the service packs string of updates caused this, its just finding WHAT it is and letting them know about it. Now personaly, I dont feel like wiping my whole PC just to find what specific update caused this issue, I've had help from everyone I possibly could have EXCEPT a MS employee, ive tried EVERYTHING. So much for compatability mode, huh.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM with all the updates and I have no issues playing any FPS games. Before wiping your OS from scratch, how's about you try what we have ask you to do?

Even if you have done so before, does it hurt to try again? are you loosing time or money? just saying. sometimes I update my drivers then install a game a day later and have issues... issues that I resolve by updating my drivers one more time.

    +1

Sometimes it's just a matter of trial and error, and sometimes is just a matter of proper steps prior to any installation... Generally speaking.
And by the way, none of the links posted by Slasher are unsafe, the first one is for DX directly@ Microsoft's Download Center, the second one is for Revo, which is one of THE best uninstaller utilities. Though, I'd rather recommend this link instead:

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

It shows the difference between the free and Pro version, though for uninstalling programs, the free version is perfectly suitable.

Lol why would I post any unsafe links? Just do what I told you, you won't lose anything if it don't work.
