    GFWL Question URGENT!!!

    Hi,

If possible I need to know if GFWL keeps my save data on the 'cloud', so if I clean re-install my computer, and want to play GTA 4, I will have all my save data.

Seriously? I thought Games For Windows - Live kept the save data on the cloud, like Steam Cloud. I'm pretty sure I read it in a GFWL FAQ...

It CAN lock you out from loading a downloaded save game, but it seems the save file is where indicated...you must save everything to include any hidden items....

Alright I'll go ahead and use the link you posted for GTA 4 but... I have Halo 2 and Gears of War also, so how could I back up the save files for those game's too?

This is a very useful tool:

Live saves information about games even when you finish one

But when you install the game on another pc you basicly have to start over pretty much

Only game to save any legit info was Bulletstorm other then that game all my othes had to be redone

Also i think steam does a better job of saving info and current stats and you can pick up where you left off as opposed to GFWL

    in my opinion

With Steam, that ability only works if the game has the Steam Cloud feature, such as all the Half-Life 2 based Valve games (Source), and some other third party games that use Steamworks.

Stupid GFWL... So should I use the Game Save Manager for Halo 2, Gears of War and Bulletstorm?

Bulletstorm should be ok if you have beaten it i just reinstalled it on my new rig and all the finished chapters are there i can just jump into them

But as far as the current stats you earned i think they will be gone

Anyway that game saver seems like a good tool i have never used it but by reading the FAQ

It appears to be a steam type program and keeps your games updated

I used the game saver tool, and it told me where and what exactly I need to backup for all my GFWL games. Since I manually backed up my previous games, I just used the game saver tool to tell me what I needed to do, but from now on, I will use it. :). I hate backing up game save data, only part of formatting computer that is really annoying...
