Not really sounds like they are going to try to change a classic formula that has made for one of the all time most popular online fps games to ever exist.
They tried it once before when steam was first released and they patched to 1.6 of the original game.
The number of online severs and players was cut in half almost overnight, and steadily got worse until about a month later when they undid the retarded changes.

The source version of the game only works because it's so closely based on the original. Now it seems they are going to try and change the formula. I wouldn't be surprised if they give benefits to people that play all the time like they have with newer fps'ers like COD and crysis 2.
This will ruin the only aspect of the game that has made it special to a lot of people.
Everyone starts every map on perfectly even ground in the way of money/gear.

No they're going to brutalize it. I just know it.

I absolutely agree with you. They are gonna mess up everything that CS is. Sure, you hear about all the ''Good'' things but what about the bad? Something i see coming are micro-transactions, like with TF2. Its just this big repeating cycle, they aren't doing this for the gamers, they are doing this for their pockets. Well Gabe anyways.

Valve Releases First Details on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Modern Warfare and Battlefield 3 may be near-constantly forced into the colossal, cyclopean public eye these days, but make no mistake: Counter-Strike is still huge. Competitive gamers, especially, perform the eternal dance between terrorists and counter-terrorists with the lithe grace of swans.

As much as I love CS:S, this still just yells "Where's HL3?", lol.
