Windows 7: Sims 1 Deluxe Edition issues...help??

I have a brand new HP 2010i desktop. I have installed the full set of Sims 3 and Sims 2 and have not had any issues. But I can't get Sims 1 Deluxe Edition (or expansions) to work. I have tried running it in windowed mode and tried running as administrator and tried running in all different compatibility modes with no luck. It loads every time and then crashes and shuts off immediately when it gets to the neighborhood. I'm not too computer savvy. Any other ideas to get it to play?
