    SW: The Force Unleashed

    To celebrate The SW Saga coming out on Blu-Ray, Direct2Drive is having a sale on many of their SW DLs;
    some up to 50% off.

    I was thinking of getting The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition & maybe The Force Unleashed II, but I always have trouble determining if my video card is up to snuff because of the way cards are labeled. Will my comfuser be up to the task?:

    Mobo: MSI 785GM-E51
    CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 435 - 2.90GHz
    Memory: 4Gigs DDR2
    Video: Onboard ATI Radeon HD4200
    Sound: Onboard HDAUDIO
    HD: Western Digital 500GB SATA w/approx. 401GB free
    OD: 1. LG GSA-H10L 16x SuperMulti & 2. Lite-On SOHW-1633S 16x SuperMulti
    OS: 7 Pro 64Bit w/SP1

    Everything looks good to go except the onboard HD4200. The recommended GPU for The Force Unleashed is a HD4870 with at least 512MB or memory so I'm not sure onboard graphics will cut it. You should be able to run it, but on low-medium settings rather than high.

    Definitely on the lower side of options.

    I had a feeling the GPU was a sticking point; unfortunantly, cash flow is strapped, so no upgrade for awhile . At least I now know I need an upgrade to better enjoy the game & won't waste money on a game that may not play well on my system. Thanks for the replies.

    Itching, so I borrowed the game. 1st thing I noticed is that it took a very long time to install, 2nd ... 24.6GB? Seriously, just to install the game? Tested, for just a few minutes & as expected, the game runs in slow-motion; but it does look great. Hopefully I can upgrade before the year is out. BTW, why is this version not on any of the dedicated gaming systems (PS#, XBox, Wii)?

    Oh yea, why are there a few folders automatically made off of My Documents folder? Can I move this to the installation folder?

    It ran poorly on a 4870 & a single gtx460. Too much stutter and it has a 30fps frame cap irc. Don't bother with it ...
