Trouble Launching Counter Strike: Source

I just recently installed Windows 7 Build 7100 and it is working great except for when I try to run the steam game Counter Strike: Source. It ran fine when I had xp but now, on Windows 7, it won't launch. When I click launch game or click on the icon the window comes up saying that it's preparing to launch Counter-Strike: Source like it normally does, but then the window dissappears and the game does not load. I have already reinstalled steam and Counter-Strike so I don't know what to do now. Please help.

K, i would need to know your specs before offering help. At a glance make sure your drivers are the latest ones and tbh try a later build of Win 7. Many people including me are running cs with no problems

I have checked to make sure my drivers are updated. I did not no there was a later build then 7100. Could you send me the link to the download for the build that you are running counter strike source on?

If I install a new build (such as 7600) will i need to reload all my files back on the computer. Will it delete everything like it did when I installed the first one or is it just an upgrade.
