Exact same problem, installed windows 7 and now the wireless receiver won't even light up.
AHA! I knew I wasn't crazy! I wonder if M$ will do something for us?
Same problem. It just went dead on me after I installed the 7 beta with it hooked up.
I am trying to find a support contact now. Due to some migrations on the Windows hardware website this is proving to be harder than expected.
I will keep you guys posted.
Please let me know how that turns out, because I would love to try out some of the newer games with my 360 controller... Or use my guitar for Guitar Hero again...
WINDOWS 7 KILLED MY RECEIVER!! (lol)
I report that mine is working fine. I have the 7000 build of W7 64 bit. I have tried my receiver several times with success. I let windows install the drivers instead of pulling out the disc that came with it.
Did you have yours plugged in while installing Seven? Also, I'd like to get everyone's motherboard models. It might be a brand/chipset thing.
PS - I talked to a guy named Josh at Microsoft Supplemental Parts (warranty replacement/repair department) and I have a new receiver on the way. No charge, just had to fax pictures of the device and the service tag on the cord.
No I did not have it plugged in during install of Windows 7.
