I hate the new Solitaire
I've been playing solitaire on my computer since? (well I can't really remember that far back)
So when I first loaded Windows 7 (true also with Vista) I found that MS had actually paid some guy to mess it up the look and feel of Solitaire (expletives deleted).
It looks really sick and doesn't even play the same as the older version.
So, not to be daunted.....
I set about finding a way to play my old familiar Sol on Windows 7.
After many false starts and having to run System Restore a few times to fix my screw-ups, I finally got it!
From the System32 folder in XP, copy the Sol.exe and cards.dll files to some external media, like a flash drive.
In Windows 7, 32 in the \Program Files\ folder, or in Windows 7,64 in the \Program files (x86)\ folder, make a new folder and call it something like "Old Sol".
Then from your flash drive copy the two saved Solitaire files to the new folder.
Right click on the Sol.exe file and "Send To: Desktop and create a shortcut".
Now, you'll have a shortcut on your desktop that will run the old familiar Solitaire (Sol).
If you're happy with the new Solitaire, then just forget everything I've said here.
Cheers Mates!
