Windows 7: PC Battlefield 3 Beta Performance With Dual Cores.

BF3 is optimised for multi cores..quad in particular..unlike BC2 tho BF3 is not so heavy on the CPU as its been set up this time around to give more work to the GPU.
So you will be needing a decent graphix card with 1.5gb of memory..to play in ultra settings then you need top end 3gb cards.
It's likely to be playable on a wide range of (older) cards but lo res and lo settings.6 more sleeps til it starts and I'll bet it has all sorts of issues on release.
It is EA/DICE after all..

Ouch! That's closer to the release date of MW3 (CoD) in the States (November 8th I think)

I shall just upgrade my GPU and just unlock my CPU to 4 cores when needed (It would help if someone replied to my topic regarding my CPU unlocking).

I saw a yourube video of a guy who played BF3 beta on ultra settings. But not with a high end card. The card he was useing was the same as mine, the GTS 450, paired with a quad-core AMD CPU. So. . .Yea, I doubt the cards will need to be super high-end.

I will like the proper CrossfireX and SLI support. I have been thinking about buying a 6990 when I order the game on Newegg. But I might want to upgrade my ram first. Not sure what I will do next.

I hope my system can play it.... I think I should of gone for a 560 instead of a 460 but heard great things about a 460 and so far it's been brill.

Performance: Should I assign processes to cores manually?
Hi My question is related to processor affinity. There's a feature well-hidden in the Task Manager on all version of Windows 7 (and even on Vista and XP I guess) that lets you select which programs can use which processor cores. Normally this is something the OS and the programs do...

BSOD playing battlefield 3/battlefield 4 beta
I've made threads asking for help in the past and went back over them before posting here, but I'm kind of stuck again. I ran furmark without my gpu overheating/crashing, and I ran prime95 again without overheating/crashing. I haven't done any overclocking, and I ran 9 passes of memtest...

Horrible performance on Battlefield 3 - not sure why.
So, as the thread title says, Battlefield 3 runs pretty awful on my PC. So bad that it seriously effects my gameplay, and puts me off playing altogether many times. As a little background info, these are my computer specs: Nvidia GTX560SE 4GB DDR2 RAM AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 3.2 dual core...
