    DOOM3 - Windows 7

Anyone got DOOM 3 to work with windows 7? , when i load it up i get annoying out of sync waves going down the screen. Also everytime i set widescreen and restart the game it goes back to 640x. I tried autoexec.cfg and setting that to widescreen but it still starts up as a really low res!

    Not the only one

It needs some sort of patch I would suppose. It needed one for vista so the same one may work. It also may be that you have the 64 bit version of windows, not sure if thats a problem.

    edit:

it would seem using the windows update drivers, doom 3 works perfectly fine, but trying to use any recent drivers will break most ID (Doom/Quake, etc) or OpenGL based games.

using the nvidia stock drivers on my 9800GTX+ I had those horrible flickering lines with DOOM3 and wolfenstein on steam , unninstalled the card completely and allowed windows update to install drivers and that fixed it and all my other games

Yep, dont use the vista drivers as the WU ones are specific for Win7.

    i got it to work

i dont know if any of this is relevant but here it is:

    dimension 9600
    2.4 ghz p4
    768 ram
ati sapphire radeon 4600 256 mb vram

i divided my 80gb drive in to 2 40 gb parts. installed xp and all drivers ect.
mounted windows 7 beta 7000 in daemon tools in xp and installed into seperate part

    got all drivers workin

booted xp and installed doom 3 and played awhile... worked fine

    booted windows 7

went into xp drive where doom 3 installed.

ran from that directory without even installing it in windows 7

all done from original PURCHASED oem game also

    works fine no problems

make sure disk is in the drive

    BUY THE GAME
