Lost Spider Solitaire in Windows 7

I kept getting the message Critical Error: Failed to Create DirectX Device and got on a forum that told me to create a "Games" folder on my desktop, highlight and drag the spider solitaire application from my Programs file and open it from there. Not only did that not work for my problem, now I can't get spider solitaire or any of the other MS games that came on the computer to open either. I've downloaded a free spider solitaire but don't like it. I want my Windows 7 version back. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the forum,

You could try turning off the games features, reboot, then turn them back on again.

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

This is always handy too, to find and fix corrupt files,

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know how it goes.

To derekimo: You are a genius. That worked and I can't even begin to figure out how. Now if I get my Critical Error message again I'll be back. Thanks
